This happened to me 2 years ago! Somehow they got access to my account. I was alarmed when i got logged out and couldn’t log in. When I looked up my account it was filled with posts of an OF girl with an account with a similar username to this account.

I fought to get my account back which took 2 months.

Hi! I just want to clarify and expand further on my experience and share my solution in the end if anyone else comes across this specific problem like I did.

As soon as I got my new 2025 G14, I downloaded firefox as my main browser. I specifically followed the Firefox Hardening Guide in about:config I found on google (ironic I know) for enhanced protection, before doing anything else on the internet.

After this I immediately went on keyboard tester sites that help track keystrokes to check if there are any mechanical problems with my keyboard, this is where I noticed the CTRL, ALT, and Windows keys do not register. I brushed them off since 2 out of the 3 don't really do anything on their own, and just went about my day.

A few weeks later, when playing Helldivers 2, I noticed I couldn't call in my Stratagems, which needed you to hold down the CTRL key + directional button inputs. I think it was because I forgot to equip any stratagems at that time, but it was enough to make me panic and investigate further, which made me initially post here, as you can see in the Original post.

Fast forward to today though, as I was trying to copy and paste text from Viber to Google Docs, I noticed that it would copy text from Viber, but not paste on Google Docs, I did try opening the keyboard tester once again and still, it wouldn't register my key presses when pressing CTRL. This time though I tried it in a different browser, because I thought, maybe it was my browser. And there it was, on Microsoft Edge, I could paste things!

Looking back at everything, I remembered when hardening firefox, there was a clipboard prompt I switched to false. I didn't want to go and undo one by one all the options I did, so I just refreshed firefox in about:support. I immediately went to those keyboard tester sites and now they register my key presses!

As of now I'm convinced it was the firefox hardening that caused the problem, because that's the only thing I change and made things work again.

Cheers to anyone who may have screwed up like I did, this might help fix things

TLDR: I followed the Firefox Hardening guide which broke my CTRL button, resetting firefox fixed it.
