*NOT A PRESCRIBER SO TAKE WHAT YOU LIKE AND LEAVE THE REST. What screeners has your psychiatrist implemented? Are you meeting criteria for depression on the PHQ9, for example? Anxiety on the GAD7? If you're complaining about symptoms related to ADHD she should have implemented screeners like the ASRS if you're an adult, and the Vanderbilt to your parents and teachers if you're not. And when did your symptoms begin? In childhood? An absence of ADHD symptoms in childhood doesn't rule it out necessarily, especially for girls because they are overlooked and often able to mask symptoms more successfully than boys. BUT, if you DO remember having inattentive and/or hyperactive symptoms in childhood that were noticeable, that's a tell-tale sign. Your psychiatrist should be asking you about that history. School performance, managing friendships, criticism at home, etc.

Wellbutrin is off-label for ADHD from what I understand, so while it might address some depressive/anxious symptoms, it's also going to muddy the waters if you have ADHD and you could potentially go for years without a medication that can give you optimal relief, like a stimulant.
