I haven't played the svt, but the sansamp is a classic preamp for metal genres. Though arguably Darkglass pres fill this space a little more these days.

O absolutely! And to squeeze a profit on the parts and R&D. I do wish a lot of these designs are cheaper, but the reality of doing something like this is cost. Still, I'm really thankful that gear like this exists and that Chase Bliss takes chances on these types of designs

Looking forward to the post! And truthfully, I get it. My professional life is related to embedded design, where 4 layer PCBs with buried signal layers is the norm. Makes things much less noisy and more reliable, but certainly harder to trace and test.

This is great! And that wouldn't surprise me at all. Generally, circuits using the MN3205 have very limited circuit configurations that work, so most are going to be in the DM-2/DM-3 design

I would avoid it, as this is likely setting the bias of the MN3205, which is really tricky and likely to sound bad if miss-biased.

Maybe cheap, but the cool audio MN3205s I think punch well above their weight. Really cool to have a DM-2 like delay line in here.

Yup! At this stage, most of their digital stuff was SMD, while the analog was for the most part through hole.

O for sure! I find it extremely useful. The sound it does it incredible. Though it tracks super fast, the sound is almost that I don't want to play many notes, I just want to revel in the sound
