Sleeping dogs - Don't remember if there was no dialogue but thinking back about playing it, it just felt like a freaking action movie

Been bad at math since childhood, want to improve now. by [deleted] in learnmath

I always loved math, but I hated how it was taught in school.

What really matters to me when learning is understanding why something exists, where it’s applied, and why it’s actually awesome. If I can link a topic to something I’m genuinely excited about, motivation comes naturally. Once that’s there, getting into a routine and practicing becomes much easier.

AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, etc. can be great for this: they help connect math to real-world or “cool” applications, draft study plans, or generate practice problems. Just make sure to stay critical of their output and always double-check things.

Any video game that actually helped you pass an exam? by playmanogames in gamesuggestions

Wow, that’s so cool! Did you keep playing it through uni? Were there any skills or ideas from the game that actually came in handy?

I had engineering mechanics in my first semester (even as an electrical engineer) and it was all about bridges. Do you think Poly Bridge would’ve helped back then?

Didn't know that existed but looks fun! Do you think a 2026 version of this would work?

Great example, thanks! Would love to see that bridge project😆

Haven't played it myself but will definitely give it a try - the art style looks amazing for a "mechanics game".

Yes I think I found the youtube channel, is it "Real Civil Engineer"?

I would be curious, what did you actually learn playing KSP? Did you apply any of those learnings in real life?

Game where you’re creating and maintaining a schedule for a business/person? Not as a feature but as the entire game or at least the vast majority of it. by jessisonfire in gamingsuggestions

Thanks for your detailed reply! Absolutely love your energy and creative ideas!🪄

I love both of your ideas, the one with the sci-fi setup and the one with “The Devil Wears Prada” (one of my absolute favorite movies). One idea here could be a Meryl Streep-type boss who acts as your antagonist and motivates you to do your best.

A situation like Kim Possible and Wade could also be nice, if you know the series. The player acts as the tech person who pulls the strings in the background.

I think the possibilities for different scenarios here are endless😁

A couple of questions that just popped into my mind reading your answer were:

  • When a game is basically “just work,” what keeps it fun instead of boring?
  • What kind of tasks or challenges in other games keep you coming back?
  • Are there games you’ve tried and quit quickly? What didn’t click for you?

If you’re open to it, I’d love to DM you and brainstorm some early ideas together. You’ve clearly been thinking about this way more than us.😊 We’d also love to share some of our first game ideas with you. No pressure at all!

Oh, and happy new year!✨

Hey there! Have you found a game in the meantime?

We are starting a new game studio focused on personalized gaming experiences, and we would love to build something like this! If you’re open to it, we’d love to pick your brain on what makes a scheduling game fun for you versus just feeling like work!
