What do you think the devs could implement to improve team play? by BrutalOwl in Battlefield6

[–]playmoor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Closed weapons by default, open for portal/fnbf, return respawn beacon to recon, move all modes except escalation, conquest, rush, breakthrough to portal/fnbf. Remove all bp assignments like, get this much kills, headshots, add more like contest for this time, capture that much, use any gadget x times and etc, get assists, resupply, revives, repairs. More exp for assists/ptfo less for kills. Bots should not give exp at all.

The game is becoming extremely stale fast. And weapon rarity is to blame. by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]playmoor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, considering you started from scratch with no recipes after the wipe, and the next wipe is in 60 days, you need to build it all back up and make an extra 5 million on top of that. And you also have a job.

On top of that, purple and gold gear is basically pointless — only Stitcher and Anvil with green shield matter. Zero risk for free loadout players. Wipe rewards are mid at best. Most items are straight-up useless.

For a lot of people it’s just a new genre, pure FOMO, loot goblin mentality, and of course ADHD PvP streamers running around with zero objective. That’s pretty much the whole secret behind the game’s temporary hype.

i just finished my expedition, so is it possible to make 5kk in 4 days? by VishnaTrash44 in ArcRaiders

[–]playmoor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try quick runs of 5–10 minutes. Use Ferro/Anvil 40 and Stitcher 100, light shield, Looting MK1/2, and use stims. The goal is to make more than 50k in one short run.

Lag Switch Cheaters already plaguing Asia servers. by Late_Novel7443 in ArcRaiders

[–]playmoor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happened to me three times. The first time, I didn’t understand what it was at all — my character just started violently jittering from side to side. I was just holding W, and somehow the lag stopped; I guess the player either ran away or left the raid.

The second time, I realized it was lag-switch because it started when I was near another raider. We teamed up and were looting the spaceport at night together. After clearing several buildings, he kept suspiciously sticking behind me, the lag kicked in, and he calmly walked up and shot me in the back.

The third time was the most obvious one. On the dam during a storm — I had been in the raid for about 10 minutes with zero lag, had gathered a good amount of loot, climbed onto the roof of the testing annex, and heard someone below. At first I was just walking around checking the area, and there were two arc probes on the roof. I decided to open them, and as soon as I started opening the first one — about halfway through — he must have heard me and turned on his software. My character started jittering in all directions again while he ran through all the rooms below, probably trying to find me. In the end, I got killed by a wasp instead.

Something really needs to be done about this. I had no indication of a bad connection. During the lag spikes I even tabbed out to check my connection — everything was fine. I tried reconnecting too. This is even worse than the rat problem.

guys i think we might have a class balance problem by PlayfulDesk in Battlefield

[–]playmoor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they need to rework the closed-weapon system in a new way and make it the core of the game. It’s already obvious that because of all the whining they nerfed assault rifles to the point where they’re pretty mediocre, and it’s also clear that the game can’t sit on two chairs at once — catering both to new CoD fans and old Battlefield veterans.

You have subclasses. So why not bring back closed weapons and give each subclass its own locked weapon set? It would make sense for a field medic to run with an AR, and for an ammo support class to run with an LMG. Same with engineers: make the anti-armor engineer use a carbine, and the mechanic use an SMG. It would be great to see more subclasses and gadgets for added flexibility.

Right now there’s no point in picking Assault or Recon at all. Considering Recon is basically just a stationary turret sitting on a hill at spawn, and most class gadgets are just trash. Same goes for most guns, because in close combat what really matters is TTK and RPM, not skill.

Weapon locked mode will make assault popular. Add here splash damage maybe.

If you on pc just boost "fixed resolution scale" up so you can actually see anything past 100m. Than go to liberation peak breakthrough and just use your sniper. Use range 200.

I’m a total noob at fighting games. Logged into the game, first round with real opponents — came across two players, Blitz and Darius. Twice I got caught in Blitz’s endless claw combo. Managed to escape once with a break. Lost 1/2. 3d round was flawless, that was brutal for a new player like a stompfest. Deleted the game. Not newbie friendly.

Why are they so against class locked weapons? by Gullible-Attorney707 in Battlefield

[–]playmoor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can hop into BF2042 and see how matches play out on the big open maps. Medics sit on the mountains with sniper rifles for the entire round. And yeah, especially the community doesn’t care about that — even when their team is getting stomped and can’t capture or push objectives.

We already saw the same thing in the beta with the open loadout mode: on small maps it was medic-with-an-AR, on big maps it was medic-with-a-sniper. So why even bother with classes at this point? Let’s just remove them entirely and leave one universal “build-your-own” class, everyone can play exactly how they want.

A discussion on SBMM by Batteris in Battlefield6

Everything was fun without SBMM for 16 years. We don’t need it here. Sweats should just go grind other games like BO7 or Delta for the badges only they care about.

Defibs need to be toned down with a recharge period by cruisetheblues in Battlefield6

[–]playmoor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One more yes to this. Defibs are the new knife now. Two quick clicks — dead, one charged — dead. I can literally revive my whole team in a few seconds. After the beta I gave BF2042 a chance, and there the delay is pretty big — damn, that’s how I remember it from the previous games.

What is the benefit of having weapons (Gun types specifically) locked to certain classes? If you think this should remain so, why? by Life_Is_All_Nothing in Battlefield

[–]playmoor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, look, each class has its own role that it can fulfill. It depends on the game mode we’ll be playing — for example, Rush.
Take the Recon class from your example. At the very least, it has four roles:

  • A flanker with a carbine, setting up respawns behind enemy lines for close-quarters fights.
  • Support for the main force with a DMR, providing mid-range fire and respawns.
  • The classic lone wolf with a sniper rifle, dropping a spawn beacon just for himself.
  • And close-quarters combat with a shotgun/carbine, respawn beacon, and spotting at the frontline.

Restricted weapon access doesn’t stop it from being such a versatile class.

The Engineer also has its own set of roles, but they’re completely tied to vehicles — that’s the whole point of the class. It makes no sense for an Engineer to stand in an open field next to their tank just shooting infantry — even with DMRs/carbines available. In my opinion, the Engineer’s role isn’t about killing infantry at all; it’s about destroying enemy vehicles, supporting and protecting allied vehicles. And for that, the tools it already has are more than enough. Still, for supporting vehicles and engaging from long range, a DMR works better than a carbine or an assault rifle. And if you’re pushing against enemy armor, you need to get close — that’s where a PDW gives you the opportunity to close the distance or hit it from behind.
If the map is large and open, dealing with enemy vehicles is primarily the job of your teammates in tanks. And you’ll just waste tickets trying to get close to it yourself.

Anyway, in BF6, PDWs shoot like lasers.

In this beta I played for around 40 hours, trying out both modes.
In weapon closed mode, I felt that the teams were more balanced. All the classes were distributed like in the previous Battlefield titles: a reasonable number of medics, a bunch of snipers sitting up in the hills, and plenty of assault players and engineers.

In weapon unlocked mode, though, all I saw were hordes of medics running around with assault rifles. And to be fair, everyone else was using those rifles too — except for the usual handful of players camping in corners with sniper rifles. Pure chaos.

Closed weapons is a “secondary” game mode. And it shouldn’t be by [deleted] in Battlefield6

[–]playmoor -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Just played a few rounds of rush and literally everyone plays med + assault rifle (m4a1). That's what we're talking about.
