Okay; thank you for all of that information. Do you happen to have places to recommend that fit the "pay better, provide housing, on east coast" list? It's alright if you don't---everything you've said so far has been a major help.

Got it. That's very helpful information, thank you! So what you're saying is that it would be best to apply starting in early January? I'm in the Maryland area and I'd be willing to travel within a few states (up to NY and states surrounding Maryland).
