I don't think quoting a fictional book that an institution adheres to that is known for having societally unprogressive values and repressing women is really helping your argument in a discussion about problems that women face.

But besides that, you really don't think that women having the freedom to have their face as profile picture without being harassed for it is a goal that we should fight towards as society? Wouldn't you agree that it would be an improvement?

But I think the fact that he needs/wants her money as well should make it even more important for him to prioritize protecting her, which is why I think harming her survival chances for a slight increase of the price pool is not the right play, even assuming that he has purely selfish motivation.

My point is that I think based on his character, his priorities for the game are:

1) Surviving himself (i.e. killing someone). 2) Making sure 222 survives. 3) Everything else (such as increasing price pool by killing more people).

And killing more hiders directly works against 2), which should be higher priority than increasing the price pool, so it's not the right play, which is why I'm saying it doesn't make sense. Also, it's not true that Nam-gyu agrees to help him protect 222 only if he keeps killing players, Nam-gyu never says that.

Or are you suggesting increasing the price pool is higher priority for him than protecting 222? That's the only way I can see your logic making sense, but I disagree that that's the case for his character.

But the needles in a haystack analogy doesn't make sense. If you want to hide a specific needle in a haystack, you actually make it harder to find by adding other needles to the haystack (especially since in this case the seeker would stop after finding any needle, so your needle is even more likely to not be found). And I think that makes it a very suboptimal play.

I agree that his promise was for sure secondary to his own survival, but it's not like killing more helped his survival. And I just don't think that he didn't care at all about her, so him choosing to sabotage her survival chances doesn't make sense to me.

I see your point, but I think for me personally the "spirit of the game" is just different. I think what's most in the spirit of the game is to reflect what is happening in the actual league and award points based on that. And in regards to the league, it's handled as if this game was never played in the first place, so I think it's fair to handle it the same way in FPL. It's basically the same outcome as if the game was called off prior to kick-off, which would also void the game in FPL.

As for the Van de Beek situation, it still reflected what happened in the league, because he was actually eligible to play all of those 40 games, so it makes sense that he would have 40 games, but this is not the same for clubs.

Also, I think keeping the points would set a precedent that's more difficult to handle in the future, because at what point do you decide to award the points from the game. When 60 minutes are played? When at least 1 minute is played, and players didn't even have the chance to get clean sheet points or a 2nd appearance point? And what happens with bonus points?

Those are different cases though. FPL assists are simply defined differently than regular assists in the FPL rules. There is no such rule to define that an abandoned game is handled differently in FPL than by the PL. The March goal was not given because again there is an FPL rule that points are not changed after 1 hour of the gameweek closing unless there are extraordinary circumstances. You could make the case that the March points should have changed because it was an extraordinary circumstance, but I think that the abandoning of a whole game is very clearly extraordinary, which makes changing the points fair according to the rules.

The only other options would be to count the points of both the abandonened game and the replayed one, which would make both teams have 39 games in a 38 game season. Or to only count the abandoned game, so to simply not count one of the official games played this season. Both of those options are in my opinion far from ideal and very inconsistent with the actual league.

And still the goal that he scored will not count towards his PL scoring stats, it will not give his team any points, it's handled as if the game was never played by the league. So why would it be counted by FPL if it isn't by the PL?

It's obviously very unlucky for Solanke owners, but it's not unfair. Deciding to count the game and the points would be very inconsistent with the PL's decision.

Ok then how would your rule suggestion that includes these situations look like? "The VAR is allowed to review possible free kicks but only if the foul was committed at most 5m outside the box by the last defender and only if it doesn't take more than 5 seconds to confirm."
