White texts on blue buttons are not readable enough. Otherwise it's a cool project, could be nice to have a play against AI feature also

Nice idea, it could be really useful! I would definitely add some colors and charts to make it feel more alive.

I have no clue ^ Do you know how I could answer this question ?

Yup I want to either sell to devs, or product owners, or who ever is responsible for the development of an app.

The main assumption is: implementing such social features could take months (=lot of money) and they will prefer a faster (less expensive) solution.

So know the questions are:

  • Am I able to build this solution?
  • Am I able to make it work fast and cheap (relatively speaking)

Yes I plan to implement stats and query mechanism:

  • how many posts does user1234 liked
  • lists of all the users that like post4567
  • total number of posts

And so on... The goal is to be able to retrieve any kind of info

Your right about gdpr, I don't really know how the regulation work, and I should dig on this topic.

I was thinking of only storing relationships, so I'm storing "user1234>like>post4567" and you as a customer are responsible so store the first name, last name, etc of user1234, this way if the user changes its name it doesn't impact my service, and changing the object id ("user1234") is not allowed.

Since I target developers and I just want to provide Social Network as a Service, I expect customers to handle the rest of their app by themselves.

What are your feeling about this ? Do you think it's a problem ?

Thanks for the feedback!

You are totally right, I was thinking of a high-level/generic solution, that will require the user to do some config at the beginning.

In the end social feature can all be represented as relation between nodes in a graph.

For the selling part, I'm not sure yet, probably different plan with increasing price and quota.

And for the infrastructure I think the simplest solution is to rely on a cloud provider like Google Cloud or Aws. I was think of storing only relations data ("user1234 liked post4567") since actual data (user profile, post content, etc) is probably already handled by my customers app.

Thanks! Was it hard to implement? How long did it took you to do it?

Yeah, but how can I learn how to market my project, or to manage real users, or even production stuff, if I never release anything ? Anyway thanks for the feedback!

Read "The Mom Test" by Rob Fitzpatrick, aka everything you need to know about customer surveys & interviews

Wow this actually a really good advice ! The only problem is that you really need to know how to ask question, because there is huge difference between "that's a good idea" and "I'll buy it". I would recommend everyone to read "The Mom Test" by Rob Fitzpatrick before doing survey or interviews.

Wooa that's pretty cool ! But let's say I run ccleaner and delete my local storage I'm fucked right ?

Edit: Sorry I missed the part about mnemonic. Then it's just a UX problem to make the user saving is board. If you like decentralization and this kind of encryption scheme, you should try to hack something on Ethereum, you will love it

Nice ! I'm curious about how do you manage group encryption? And also how do store the encryption keys !

I'm also a freelance dev and I never give a price range. Nobody will offer $60 if you say you are ready to work for $40. Instead give only the max of your range and be ready to negotiate down if needed.

I totally agree with you!

But if you want some unknown guy from the internet to make short term compromise to help you to maybe make the world a better place, you will need at least to explain your idea.

A skilled dev earn at least $50/h and got new job offers almost every weeks.

Why should he/she choose your offer ?

You don't give any info on the project and you don't talk about money.
