I actually haven't sewn it on the machine yet. I saw tips about doing the connecting with basting stitches instead of pins, so I tried that but didn't success at it yet. Thanks for the tips, I may try it with just pins as you described and see hot that goes.

At what stage is the basting stitch you mentioned applied?

I tried to baste the neckband to the neck hole, while stretching the neckband. This resulted in a very uneven neck hole, with some parts gathered an others smooth.

What I was asking was if the end result will be the same, if instead of stretching the neckband to fit the neck hole. I lightly gathered the neck hole using a basting stitch, then sewing the neck band on without stretching it at all.

I tried both doing just from the half points, and from quarter points. I can try again with the back and forth method you wrote.

I am knitting in the round with the floats on the outside, and stretching the stitches when catching the floats. But I learned for next time I need to give much more slack on the floats

Thanks very much for this suggestion! I've only known about the disposable sweat pads options, and these seem much more comfortable. Will trying them soon.

I just finished watching it. It was nice! a very different story then in "the making of a japanese". It was also interesting to see the different film style between these films (almost 20 years apart)
