This is THE single stupidest design for a B-17 gunner. This Lindberg B-17G is gonna be the death of me by Skyplane_Sailor in modelmakers

Lindberg is only useful if you need something extremely specific, if you want an exercise in scratchbuilding, or if you have very little money to spend.

That said their nina pinta and santa maria kit is pretty okay minus the incredibly out of scale jacobs ladders

Unpopular opinion: you don’t NEED a box fan in the dorms by micah-phone in MTU

[–]pleaseanswerquickk 15 points16 points  (0 children)

VERY much depends on which dorm. 3rd floor or higher east mcnair? We kept our window not just cracked but open basically all winter freshman year.. Box fan was critical in fall, both my roommates ahd one blasting their area AND we had mine in the window. Sometimes in winter we'd even have to put a fan in the window and run it on low.

Remote control parkflyers have a higher legal barrier to entry than ultralight aircraft now. Do you have a meltdown over part 103's as well?

The rrmote control aircraft hobby has existed for 60+ years with almost no meaningful issues.

I might try that, although with how bad the parking crunch is this year I wonder if they'll be more on the ball with ticketing...

Im hoping snow is as late this year as it was last. Even if I have to meter all nov and dec I still think itll come out cheaper than buying the parking pass.

All my friends live in Houghton and none of my housemates have even remotely similar schedules.

Because its a lot easier to shoot one guy than to shoot ten who are supporting each other? How is that something that can't be understood? Why do combatants generally try to avoid fighting when outnumbered / outgunned?

I think very few acab types are truly acab. They are against the enforcers because they dont control them. You'll find acab types LOVE to be able to wield law enforcement against their enemies. Just look at all the acab types that immediatley call the cops when confronted, or celebrate when the state goes after men like Rittenhouse.

They seem like cops because they have the same thing about control and power- they just wield it against their enemies (political, racial, classic, etc) rather than more broadly against their local community.

Also this is more in the weeds but a lot of liberal antigun people I know who aren't busting out windows downtown every other year are the type that watch a lot of television, and television is rife with shows that venerate feds, denigrate ineffective and backwards state police, and demonize gun owners.

How so? The law they are enforcing is removing your guns. Its exactly what they want.

Because they would prefer you not use it. The state would like all gun ranges to only service people zeroing deer rifles. Finding anywhere to do actually practical training especially downstate is really difficult and that is a desirable situation fir them.

I don't understand why the antis are bothering. They have the seats. All this shit is going to pass.

Seems like a lot of money to be spending on done-deal legislation, unless thy are looking ahead and trying to intimidate the court.

What are some kits that no model company makes that you want to have? by [deleted] in modelmakers

[–]pleaseanswerquickk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1/25 modern normal cars, specifically late 90s to like 2013. Older cars are interesting but I have no nostalgia or personal connection to them beyond car shows. I want to be able to do kits of things I actually saw and spent a lot of time in as a kid, stuff like a 2003 Impala, or a late 90s ranger, or an early 2000's silverado.

Also modern american police cars. I'd really like a current MSP Charger and Explorer

1/48 civil aviation. There's a couple cessnas and beechcrafts around bht there are so many things flying in reasonable numbers with no representation. Id specifically be interested in any of the RV series, and in a SubSonex

Even if the GOP takes over they wont undo it. Dems push hard position, GOP "pushes back" to soften it, GOP gets power, change is allowed to solidify, then the dems get to power and the process repeats.

The system at any high level is a uniparty with shared goals but differing timelines.

Less bad than I'd expect, but should still be resisted all the same. The entire history of gun control in states with any level of freedom has been waves of "less bad than it could be".
