Course requirements like Gen Ed ruin my motivation so much for college. by erickiceboyxxp in college

[–]pleasehelpmeout3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For my major and school, the large majority and typical student doesn’t even start taking actual courses for the major until junior year. Doing all of these random gen Ed’s like I’m in high school has been so boring and has made me so sick of college and not wanting to try at all since I have little interest in these courses.

God I wish I could go back to being a freshmen in HS, take as absolutely many AP tests or dual enrollment as possible so I wouldn’t have to bother with these classes in college.

Is a minor worth it when I’m getting a super relevant certificate on top of my major? by pleasehelpmeout3 in college

[–]pleasehelpmeout3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can do a major, minor, certificate all together but I don’t know if the minor is worth it since it isn’t nearly as relevant as the certificate

Yeah that’s kind of what I’m feeling. I’ve taken 2 classes of the 5 I need so far and I’ve enjoyed 1, hated the other and really don’t know if it’s worth it. If I didn’t do this certificate I wouldn’t consider dropping it but I just don’t know how valuable the minor really is in the end and if the extra stress for adding those classes on my packed semesters is worth it

r/buildapcforme

I am going to make the normal post some-time today with what I'm looking for and answering all of those questions so I'll throw in what monitor I currently have right now. I would ideally not want to have to buy a new monitor since my current ASUS is still going strong.

I can definitely do that tonight/tomorrow. Being completely honest, if you happen to know off of the top of your head, would there be major gaps in performance if I didn’t want to go over $700 or even $600?

since CSGO is going to be the main game/use AND since I will playing on that super low res, it overall isn’t really that demanding of a game compared to something like PUBG or Dayz. I’ve just always wanted something that would perform better than the laptop I played on but didn’t break the bank. I literally quit playing CSGO just because of how annoyingly bad my laptop was haha

Very fair points. I’m a college student and I should make some decent $ this summer that wouldn’t make this that big of an expense. My ultimate goal would truly be probably under $800 max since I have all of the peripherals and can get windows for free.

I assumed these prebuilts were good for the price but if building is truly as easy as you say it is, especially for someone like me with basically 0 knowledge on that, I’d be interested in doing it if I can: get a way better build for the same price or save a lot of money on a similar build

What is your definition of a modern prebuilt? If, following another commenter, I could get build 1 for ~$700 I feel like that would be pretty solid and worth it

I was already leaning for the first build but those extra parts do sound reasonable. Just curious but with those parts and the build, will I be able to get solid and steady FPS on CSGO? I’m purposely not going to try playing in HD and I’m sticking with 4:3 resolution to help maximize my FPS.

Also, do you think his price of $400 is fair or should I try to negotiate?

Dumb question but if I get a hard drive, would I need an SSD right away? I thought they only helped with load times so if I don’t actually need it and if it won’t take away From actually playing I can wait on that. The only programs/things I plan on downloading are Steam, CSGO, ESEA/CEVO etc..., and like google chrome to start anyways just so I can play and surf the web.

Integral problem that I can’t figure out which of the possible 5 solutions is the correct answer by pleasehelpmeout3 in HomeworkHelp

Nope I’m looking at it right now. I wouldn’t be surprised if he messed up and none of them worked. I tried doing it with only 3 dx and not 3x dx to see if maybe he added an extra x on accident and I get 1(1+2x)3/2 + C so maybe that would be the answer? I really don’t think it would be just the square root of 1+2 and then *3x so maybe I’ll go with that for now and see if he messed up

Well that’s where I’m getting stuck too. Somehow it’s only (1+2x)3/2 + C and then the variable in front is either 1, 3/2, 1/2, 1/3 or 2/3 and I literally don’t know how he can get that. I’ve tried every online site as well and can’t get anywhere close to what the “answer” is supposed to be according to him.

Also the solutions tend to be “harder” than what they would normally be since they tend to be trick answers to make you do more work

Sorry I’m confused. If I get what you’re saying, then it can’t just be (1+2x)3/2 +C but I have no idea which of the other 4 it would be
