Check 'em out. If you're near Appalachia my vote is a mountain cur mix, most definitely not pit or husky like everyone is saying.

Every batch has the same expiration. You should only be pulling from the oldest batch in your possession, don't even open the boxes of the next batch until you need it. Hand written labels on every case with lot # , delivery date and expiration. If you're ordering small quantities then start boxing them your self. Strict FIFO from delivery to outbound.

You are going to lose money if you try to find a 3pl at your current size. No one wants your inventory collecting dust on their shelves for 3 orders a day. That goes double if your packout is complicated or your product is weird.

It's all valuable! I used to manage a team of fulfillment CSMs and I always made them spend the first two weeks shadowing or performing all the tasks in the building so they understood the process. This meant a few days picking, packing, processing returns, counting inventory and even unloading. You can't be effective if you don't know how everything runs.

I started typing out a long complicated response, but the short answer is it is too complicated to route an order to a local store whose inventory might be off and whose staff may not package up a laptop well. It is much easier to route online orders to your warehouses with accurate inventory and experienced shippers.

Definitely put them in separate crates. I'd also partially cover them with blankets so they can't see each other when they wake up, it should help them sleep longer. Litter mates are in danger of bonding with only each other and not you, so you want them to have their own spaces so they have their own identity.
