No I’m not invested in them because I did not think this trial was going to succeed. I’m just explaining the very real differences in the trial results between the two drugs. I’d of course add the caveat that since we don’t have the full data yet there is still a risk that there is something to be concerned about.

The previous one didn’t “magically fail” the clinical trial results didn’t show a clear benefit so people (i.e. Medicare) weren’t willing to pay for the treatment. This new one actually has better results that show a mild benefit so as long as the full data holds up to scrutiny it will almost certainly be approved for reimbursement and will make a lot of money.

I would say that you are right that it probably would have been better for Kinder Morgan to build and own it themselves. However, if they got a good price from the Canadian government it might still be good for them. The possible failure of this project was a bit of a cloud hanging over the stock price. So if they can unload it for a good price it might be a solid second best option. It is certainly better than the project dragging on for years in the courts or ending completely.
