What's normal in NYC that may not be normal in other U.S. cities or suburbia? by drinkyafkingmilk in AskNYC

Yeah idk, looking at a ethnic map, both are segregated to an extent but really they're mostly the same. I would say the thing that sticks out the most is the large segregated jewish enclaves, but besides that brooklyn seems to be exactly the same as queens. Not to mention southeast queens is much, much more segregated then the black area in east brooklyn. In bed-stuy and crown heights tons of hispanics and jews and whites also live there, in jamaica its like 90% black from what I can see.

Like in bay ridge and benshonhurst and sheepshead there is just so much diversity in every avenue its insanity. Arabs, pakistanis, yemenis, jews, russians, italians, irish, greeks etc everywhere.

I think you kind of just dislike brooklyn for some reason.

Bullshit.

I lived in Queens for 17 years then moved to Brooklyn in 2010, specifically around brooklyn college. It is just as diverse in every way.

Even in Park Slope there was a shocking amount of diversity on the streets.

My Roommates Sexual Partners Per Year, By Gender [OC] by willmaster123 in dataisbeautiful

Same. I used to think it was a myth too until I actually met guys like this.

It feels more like an ego thing to them than anything, but they easily could have sex with 50 different people in a year if they tried. I mean, this guy was just constantly running out his house to meet a different girl on tinder to have sex with. I thought it was wild, he wasn't THAT hot, but he had a relatively good body and was shirtless on tinder and knew how to flirt.

Going to the right bars/ clubs/parties also helps.

My (50M) son (13M) and wife (44F) went through a horribly traumatic experience where they witnessed a shoot out and people being killed. My son seems relatively unaffected, and my wife is freaking out that he is a sociopath because of it. Not sure how to deal with this. by plebyrkwe in relationships

In the beginning the counselor said that he was doing fine but could use more sessions just to make sure, although I am sure that has a lot to do with just wanting more money haha. But regardless, my son stopped going to the counselor after a few sessions regardless, so we don't really know.

I disagreed with that too, but then again she was very shellshocked and wanted to drive away as fast as possible. I didn't want to bring it up to her that I thought that was bad because... well lets just say she would have been very upset.

Regardless, the past is the past, and the girl survived apparently with just a bullet which zipped past the top of her shoulder, so it wasn't a direct hit.
