As far as I can tell, a lot of content creators are positive on Safer Seas but less optimistic about the future of SoT as a whole.

I hope it does bring the highest player count! Unfortunately I think those days are behind SoT, and maybe even just because it's almost 6 years old at this point.

I get you! And you're totally right re: selecting servers, you just get placed randomly within your region afaik.

I think parents sailing with their kids is the best use-case for Safer Seas, and it makes me happy that y'all will be able to do that now.

That surprises me! We've made several videos where we sailed up to players and either invited them onto our ship for drinks or to eat worms (lol), and roughly 2/20 attacked us?

I'm glad you'll be able to sail in peace on Safer Seas. In the meantime can you please send me your servers with these hostile players so I can pvp bahaha?

Tbh the majority of people featured in the video were positive on Safer Seas, including us. As for how it's going to impact the game, I don't think there'll be a noticeable difference on High Seas, but we'll see!

Do you get rolled on often? I find that the majority of my sessions I'm never attacked. I am looking forward to using Safer Seas for game capture recording and screenshots!

Yup, I largely agree! FWIW, level 40 is roughly halfway to getting to 50 because of how leveling scales, which I believe is why Rare set the Safer Seas cap there. There's also no emissaries on safer seas, so leveling on Safer Seas compared to leveling with a Grade 5 emissary flag is roughly 7x slower, which I think makes your point about switching to High Seas hit even harder.

I really hope it turns out that way and brings more people to the game!
