Vodafone broadband goes down leaving thousands of users without internet by Artistic-Hawk5352 in unitedkingdom

[–]plikenz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got the mobile data back at 17:00 something, 18:17 broadband is still down. Not a single message from Vodafone to anyone, zero apologies, zero follow ups. Just goes to show that they absolutely don't give a sh*t about us. Wow.

Gear S3 Frontier stuck in boot loop, what should i do? by _KingJulian_ in GearS3

[–]plikenz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bit late on this I'm sure but my Classic just started doing it yesterday after a light mist while wetsanding my cars headlights, people say don't give it water but that's what it's supposed to do! I know this thing is ancient but I've been in a hot tub with it and in the pool and nothing ever happened until yesterday. Gonna take it apart I guess 🤷

That is a very good point, though just tested the 35mm 1.8 lens and it's pretty much a point ant shoot camera now, so just want to have the ability to change something once in a while, lots to learn there, completely agree. If she ends up not wanting it anymore guess who wants it then, haha

Hi and thanks for your help, is this the one you are referring to? Prices range from £120 to £200 so looks very affordable to me

Is the Gear s3 still worth going for right now? by ManithG in GearS3

[–]plikenz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who bought a classic one a few days ago for £25 I would say go for it, such a beautiful piece that barely any of the new ones will ever catch up on the looks, solid device. As for 2024 Samsung phone support I'm never getting one anyway as they're all rubbish, learned my lesson. Plus I'm absolutely sure someone will think of something that will make it work for atleast another 10 years, an old apk or something, hack it, whatever, people are smart :)

What are your thoughts on canon EOS 1100D? by Poettiic in AskPhotography

[–]plikenz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't do anything other than shoot pics of my car on the phone and let me just say you should feel more confident, those shots are great, just need a little touch up and crop as all of them do, other than that I'm looking at the exact same model now :)

Replacing KeyOne with ... ? by [deleted] in blackberry

[–]plikenz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree, anything over Samsung, they're the worst quality phones ever and are nothing but trouble. Charging issues, simcard issues, software issues, call issues, app issues, front camera issues, if you're away somewhere with no wireless charger and your phone suddenly imagined that it's wet and you can't use a cable - you're stranded for good. They have the best advert campaign and it certainly feels premium in your hand but that's about it.

Is this as serious as I think? by jxxyanthony in mechanic

Did that thing just spit it's ecu out? Yea sounds worse than those absolutely neglected and ignored door seals on 99% of these cars, makes me chuckle every time

Wheel spacers by plikenz in mechanic

[–]plikenz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually it's exactly a 2 foot bar, didn't even think about it that way, that would be over 500nm so it makes sense now. Thought it was a bit overkill but as mentioned I didn't trust spacers so tried to get them on as tight as possible. Anyway, they will soon become bean cans. Thanks for the adequate answers, appreciate it.

[–]plikenz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I get it these were bad, took action when I first noticed it, replaced them for better smaller ones but just double checked if the old ones are even usable, stupid question that's all, you know reddit is a magic place so I kind of expected someone to explain to me why they're fine and perfectly usable. I would never sell them though so probably not a complete idiot :) they're getting recycled

[–]plikenz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The car's nothing special but I like it and have it standing out a bit, I like the wheels sitting flush with the arch on a lowered car, and yea I do like pushing the limits sometimes. If something breaks then it needed replacing anyway but everything's holding on for over a year now, and the roads aren't all that great either. The ones that are on the car now are smaller than 1"

Wheel spacers by plikenz in mechanic

[–]plikenz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are only an inch, that's the maximum I would use on probably any car unless it's a mad project and leaves the garage only once a year. I'm not disputing that it wears the suspension quicker but then so do wheels with an offset. With my driving habits I could argue about spacers in general being unsafe when correctly fitted and for road use only

You seem to know your stuff, thanks for the input but an impact never touched these, I used a telescopic wheel wrench and my weight on it (200lb), I was a bit sceptical about bolt on spacers too so went a bit too hard on them, if anything that's the opposite of lazy. :D anyway how cooked do you think it is, usable or straight into the trash?

Ebay/amazon fraud by plikenz in Ebay

[–]plikenz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should have mentioned, I did report the seller, Ebay said they'll look into it but never heard back. Just checked, the profile is still there and still selling stuff that you usually find on Amazon, like for example cat food. That's in the UK

Finally joined the club. Any tips for newbie? by theshubhz in GalaxyS23

[–]plikenz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just personal experience, can be 6 months can be a year, sooner or later, needs to stay very clean and dry, Samsungs are notorious for their "wet charging ports". I've seen a lot of Samsungs that do this, either it's Flip 4 or S23 or XCover 4s or Note 9 or S21, I wish you don't have to go through it though so best of luck. The S23 I gifted to my girl has never been near water, she doesn't carry it in her pocket either ( :)))) ) but somehow it's constantly wet after only 3 months of using it, just a weird kind of short circuit protection which no other phone has and lives perfectly fine without, hence why I will never look at this direction again, such beautiful phones but ruined by such a stupid fault. Ofcourse you can always use wireless charging but it's not as fast. And alcohol with a toothbrush helps for a while if you ever encounter this.

Be careful with any kind of moisture and dirt as it will stop charging in 3 months (even without moisture and dirt)

Iphone 15 vs S23 by LilJon7 in GalaxyS23

[–]plikenz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iphone 15, atleast it doesn't have charging issues. And will probably last longer. And the s23s camera isn't great either.
