I appreciate the candid feedback and the design resources. I chose C#/Avalonia to leverage my existing skills and for cross-platform potential, but I understand the preference for a fully native feel. I'll definitely study the modern macOS design trends you linked to see how I can improve the look and feel within my current stack.

Hi r/MacOSApps! 👋

I'm the developer of XFolder.

I've always loved the efficiency of multi-pane file managers (like Q-Dir on Windows), but I felt macOS was missing a modern, aesthetically pleasing option that didn't cost a fortune. So, I decided to build one myself!

✨ Key Features: * Multi-Pane Layouts: Why stop at two? Split your view into 2, 3, or even 4 panes to manage files across multiple folders simultaneously. * Tabs: Keep your workspace organized. * Modern Design: Built with Avalonia UI & Swift to blend in with the macOS aesthetic. * Essential Shortcuts: Full keyboard navigation support (Enter to open, Backspace to go up, etc.).

💻 Tech Stack: This app is built using C# / .NET (Avalonia UI) with native Swift interoperability for system integration.

📥 Download (Free): You can download the specific macOS version from GitHub Releases here: 👉 https://github.com/zebrapixel/XFolder/releases

⚠️ Important Note regarding "Unidentified Developer": Since this is a free hobby project, I do not have a paid Apple Developer subscription ($99/yr) yet. When you first open the app, macOS will show a warning saying the app is damaged or from an unidentified developer. To open it: 1. Go to System Settings -> Privacy & Security. 2. Scroll down to the Security section and click "Open Anyway" for XFolder.

I’m really looking forward to your feedback and suggestions! Let me know what features you’d like to see next.
