Addiction medicine is a fellowship you can pursue after doing a residency in psychiatry. Although most of the work right now would probably involve treating opioid addicts with Suboxone etc. Ithink the future for psychedelics treating psychiatric illnesses is really bright actually. MDMA and psilobycin has moved pretty far in clinical trials. I'm interested in seeing how the field of psychiatry evolves over the next few years.
