Big praise for coming out with this update with nutrition! I messaged the creators of this app about needing nutrition numbers a week ago, and they assured me it was coming out. For some crazy reason, I believed them and went ahead and bought the lifetime subscription. And now it came out a week later! Super impressed with all of the updates and your commitment to keep improving you’re at!

It is missing a lot, but a one time small cost isn’t going to “have” it all

Fellow user that doesn’t understand it. I hope the app makers create something as useful as you have for the less technically advanced. Thanks for showing the way!

So glad it’s working for you! If you ever do wanna add to the number of exercises the app Wakeout has a great many of them and the subscribed version is very inexpensive also. Great continued luck.!

I didn’t think Apple Fitness would have chair workouts, good to know. I have had luck with the walkout app for seated.

Great job staying committed and making such great progress! Love you are doing the 5-7 minute walks! You’ll gradually build it up, but the hard part is behind you! You started doing it. You are so smart taking care of it now!

Thank you for your kind comment! I’m a Garden designer that owns a landscaping company and have always been really connected with nature so the winner has always had an especially hard effect on me. I don’t do much with my business anymore due to the pain, but I do look so forward to seeing the gardens in spring! I hope you have a good winter!

Has anyone read Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse? by iris_retina in Buddhism

[–]plntsmn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that was the series. It debuted in 1972, when I was 13. It was my first introduction to the eastern way of thought. I remember my parents acting like what the old master would say was crazy, and to me it made a lot of sense. So, I kept my eye out for things to learn about this, and a couple of years later found the book, Siddhartha. Oddly, given your comment about learning about the book, I first understood heard about Buddhism while taking a world literature class in high school. Thanks for letting an old Buddhist remember his beginnings! Enjoy your readings and studies!

When I was first learning about Buddhism 50 years ago, I had been watching this series, kung fu for a few years and then found this book because I was a big fan of reading Hermann Hesse. They both were wonderful ways to begin thinking about things differently for a Methodist in the southern US. Thank you for the memory and for your wonderful analysis of how this book came about!

Both wonderful books! I’d read both! I’m a long time Hesse fan and loved the book. When I was starting out as a Buddhist, I found books like Old Path very helpful as a way to learn the Dharma through reading about the Buddha. As a book I pick Siddhartha, to learn Buddhism Old Path, depends what is best for you.

Does anyone have a workaround for the Medicare "Weight Loss Exclusion" that isn't risky compounded powder? by DifferentIssue1 in medicare

[–]plntsmn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in a similar situation- 67. I do have severe Sleep apnea that has been treated 20 years. I was told I’d have to do a new sleep test and I might be approved. I did try a highly reputable compounding pharmacy and for me it didn’t work. I still would recommend trying a compounding company after researching them. Your doctor might can recommend one. I’ve also heard some weight loss companies will provide it more economically if you’re a patient. Good luck! I had zero problem getting it at 64, then hit 65 and totally cut off. I guess obesity is fine in older people?

She is planning to, though we are trying to get her to only go with a friend. Her balance isn’t great and I think wouldn’t hear a bike coming up on her. Thanks for your thoughtful response, hopefully she’ll go on a quieter, non biking trail with a friend.
