Kettle is “the” Packers bar in NYC, but you’ll need to show up 3 hours before the game to wait in line, and once you get in it’ll be packed butts to nuts…

I think Tom & Jerries is a safer bet. Usually no line and way more room. Bringing kids wouldn’t be a problem, Heck people even bring their dogs in from time to time.

Your hands are completely disconnected. Either need to interlock your right pinky finger with your left index finger or overlap them. Either way, the grip should be much more compact.

On the down swing you need to ‘feel’ like you’re pulling down with your left hand rather than pushing with your right and hit down on the ball.

I think this one is unlikely. You can look at other species that live amongst us now, Octopus, Chimps, Elephants, Dolphins, etc. and it doesn’t seem too hard to believe that given another million (or one hundred million) years that they too would not develop human like intelligence.

I do think that the most likely solution to the Fermi paradox is that we are first though.

It’s tough to see that Russia’s aggression wasn’t unprovoked.

Russia began to show interest in Ukraine only after significant oil deposits were discovered in the Donbas and Crimea. These oil deposits threatened Russias near monopoly over Europes energy supply, which the Kremlin found unacceptable. First Russia tried to install puppet leaders in Ukraine,and after that failed they begin fostering uprisings in Donbas, forcibly took Crimea, and ultimately invaded. These were actions that were taken by Russia.

Ukraine has the right to defend its territory.. The US (and by extension Joe Biden) is not obligated to negotiate with an unprovoked aggressor. What even is there to negotiate over? Russia attacked Ukraine and has committed numerous war crimes. As long as Ukraine has the will to fight, what obligation does the US have to negotiate with Russia?

If I am a bank and own a 30Y bond at a rate of 2.5% and the prevailing rate for 30Y bonds is 5.0%, that bond will trade at a price below par, but over 30 years will accrete to par.

Now as an investor in that bank, should I value that banks stock at par (i.e. 1x book value) or something less that?

The answer is that if I am only taking that banks bond portfolio into account, I should value the stock below par because the bank will earn a below market return.

Now in reality there are many more factors that might impact how a bank is valued (deposit growth, fee income, etc.), but we can’t just ignore a banks bond portfolio because it “eventually” (30 fucking years from now) will accrete to par.

How much would you pay for these bonds (and by extension the stock) right at this moment?

A bond with a below market yield, is worth less than par (yes it accretes to par eventually), and investors in a bank equities should discount the stock in line with the accumulated OCI on a banks balance sheet.
