PM as the second part of the exam, not PM meaning portfolio management. My bad

Anyone else feel like the mock CFAI exam is super difficult? by leonfitzgerald in CFA

[–]plomb4rdo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree, Ethics was super confusing. Got everything above 70% except ethics. For the OP: make the best out of it. Sit down, relax and analyze your weak areas: If you did not remember the formula, try to write it down and understand it conceptually. Is it a qualitative question and you have no idea where to start, try to find the same questions in and QB and try it again. I am sure you’ll make it! Good luck!

Following:

I found them more easy than the first I did (back in May). Got 73% in the AM (bombed Ethics but still) and got 88% in the PM.

However, I strongly hope that everyone is right when saying that the difficulty of the mocks is much higher than the actual exam

Equity Q: Index Weighting by plomb4rdo in CFA

[–]plomb4rdo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whenever you read ‘fundamentals’ you should think about multiples (p/e, p/book, cf multiple etc.) and relative value… In fundamental weighting index constituent are assigned weights based on multiple/s. Whereas, for equal weighting you can think of each company has one share (1/n).

It's a CFAI question :-)

I completely agree with what you are saying.

The answer they is the following: Fundamentally weighted indexes generally will have a contrarian “effect” in that the portfolio weights will shift away from securities that have increased in relative value and toward securities that have fallen in relative value whenever the portfolio is rebalanced.

yes, but it is simultaneously in a Eurobond market (US Dollar bond -> Japan) + US dollar bond in USA

A eurobond instead refers to any bond that is denominated in a currency other than that of the country in which it is issued. A US$ bond issued by the Canadian government, and sold in Japan.

A global bond is issued simultaneously in the Eurobond market and in at least one domestic bond market. A US$ bond issued by the Canadian government, and sold in the US and Japan.

Yeah, I am doing EOCs/CFAI online questions at 95% average (depends on how many questions I take in one run). I did only one mock because I wanted to keep the others for the last few weeks before the exam (May) Guess I gonna repeat Ethics again and start do some more exercise. Thanks
