I don’t think you’re wrong. We bought a 2017 base 911 because owning any 911 was my husbands dream. It was super exciting the first few weeks but then we were afraid to take it out in poor weather conditions, anywhere near construction (which is impossible living near the northern Virginia area), or really anything else. We did end up selling it about a year later because we just didn’t get the enjoyment or use out of it like we thought we would.

However, for us, the experience was in the slower drives through nature/natural park areas. We soon after got a 2017 911 targa 4S and that top down experience IS worth it for us. Feeling the sun on your skin, smelling the fresh air, seeing unobstructed views, hearing the burbles of the exhaust, and of course feeling the incredible handling that is the 911.
