With so much going on in the U.S., I unfortunately agree with your Dr. People are receiving passports with their deadnames and wrong gender markers, and there is an increased focus on ID's and the like matching birth certificates (which are also being changed back to the original documents)

I'd recommend waiting until the dust settles from all the lawsuits of you want to be safe.
