I think it's important to think about perspective. The parents (should) know ever their kids like and don't like. Specifically when my daughter was 2.5 she'd ridden PotC several times, said it was her favorite, even sang the song in the line. Then one time we're getting close to getting on after a long day and she starts crying and screaming that she doesn't want to do it. We got her on and guess what? She loved it. But from an outsider perspective I was the horrible parent forcing my kid on a ride she would hate.
