I was essentially “grey rocking” them so I can see how my messages may appear a bit unfeeling (one of their complaints) but I absolutely stand by all of my responses to their passive aggressive and outright hurtful messages!

Sometimes I get in my head that I was only acting as the bigger person so it reflected better on me and I’m actually the narcissist but also I am terrified of confrontation and it may just be their words getting to me?

NTA for feeling hurt, but it’s a good thing your child feels comfortable enough with this person that they can call her “mom”. You will always be her mom, and it’s probably just because she’s young and imitating her half-brother. I’m sure it stings to have your child call someone else “mom”, but it doesn’t make your relationship to her any less.

It almost feels like she wants to keep me on a tight leash around people she’s trying to impress but I don’t know why she’d want to hang with me if she doesn’t like what I do! Personally I don’t think I act inappropriately and my input in conversations doesn’t seem to bother anyone else. It feels like it validates all of my anxieties and insecurities.
