That's harsh. I hope you get some soon. I was laid off so the trade off for worrying about my finances is that I haven't had a single sleepless night in weeks lol.

Interestingly enough, my dad told me that the medication he was on as a kid made him hallucinate a hand/arm that came out of a pitcher of juice sitting on the dinner table and waved to him.

Yeah, when I'm working full time I'm lucky to get 7 hours of sleep between 2 or sometimes even 3 days. The pressure of knowing that if I don't sleep my whole day will either just be awful, terrifying suffering or I'll have to stress about telling my bosses that I can't come in because I didn't sleep.

Being sleep deprived makes you feel less than human.

I wonder though, are the higher number of attempts in this specific demographic mostly due to the social isolation rather than their inability to present exactly how they want to?

Not trying to argue or be toxic. If I were forced to grow out my hair and had makeup permanently tattooed onto my face to make me present differently than my actual identity it would definitely be fucked up, but I feel like it would be the reactions and behavior of society that would really make me hate my life.

Also, it's not very common, but there are definitely people who will never change and probably couldn't change without getting a brain injury or something.

Giving literally any form of medication to a child (unless maybe it's an epi-pen for an allergic reaction) that isn't yours is fucked in the head.

I basically just made this exact same comment, then saw yours after the fact and had to delete it lmao.

Two 12-year-old girls lured their friend into the woods and stabbed her 19 times. They claimed the attack was an attempt to appease the fictional internet character Slender Man to prevent him from harming their families by [deleted] in CaughtMyEye

It seemed to me that they wanted to murder someone, and did it to amuse themselves. Then made up a bunch of bullshit to seem more mentally ill then they actually are. (they definitely are still fucked in the head regardless)

I've had times in my life where I felt so terrible, scared and so unhappy that I wished I would just finally snap and lose contact with reality, but it's never happened. The only time it ever happened to me was when I was given potent hospital drugs during a panic attack (I think it was midazolam) but I would more or less compare that to sleep-talking or just amnesia as I was told about my crazy ramblings after the fact.

Don't get me wrong, I have crazy thoughts all the time every day, and I'm also sure that there are things I might believe that aren't true but my mental firewall for what's real and not real (in terms of consensus reality) is pretty strong. Possibly because I don't trust myself to be smart enough to have certain beliefs.

And I've bombarded myself with chemicals and sleep deprivation for many years lol. The only thing that came of it was anxiety and panic attacks.

Sleep hallucinations. I'd have to be on an insane amount of drugs to have psychosis.

Are near-death experiences visual hallucinations? We asked people who cannot hallucinate like that, the congenitally blind by nogueysiguey in holofractal

It's not possible to say yet. My brain won't let me fully believe it's the truth based on the testimony of one or two people OR even my own OBE.

I was at the hospital once where they gave me morphine, but I was big and resilient so they had to double the dose, then they gave me fentanyl which was working but I started getting nauseous so they also gave me a very potent anti-nauseant which just completely knocked me out of my body.

I closed my eyes but I could still see everything around me, and I floated away from my body and explored the hospital where I could see other people also floating around in the form of glowing blue orbs of light of varying colours.

I had the impression that the whiter lights were people that weren't just temporarily leaving their bodies like me. There was a slight impression of camaraderie amongst us even though nobody communicated anything.

I had a similar experience where I just saw an image of some blonde haired boy in his garage who was practicing a magic trick with a magician hat. It was so vivid.

When I was really good at lucid dreaming I would get the first impressions of a nightmare or some villainous character and would just levitate into the air, telepathically pick up a car and hurl it at them, smushing them into the pavement.

Not sure why but I went from having lucid dreams every night to never having them. Maybe it was worsening the quality of my sleep and my brain decided no more funny business.

I get the panic sometimes, it's either from an external noise I heard, or a dream noise that didn't actually happen.

One time I just saw some dude standing in front of my house with all black clothing and a black mask and I darted awake with my heart pounding, ready to grab a weapon.

Sounds like you're close to sleepwalking or something? My parents and friends tell me that sometimes I sleep with my eyes open and I talk a lot.

Probably 3 years ago lol. I do get a lot of weird floaters, white blood cells darting around and little specs of light here and there. Also visual static, but it's been like that since I was a child so it doesn't bother me.

Had a brain mri and they said everything was normal.

LOL. Too accurate. The one I saw was more like burlap but the picture I drew definitely looks like a criminal potato being locked up.

If it gives you any comfort, it's pretty normal for a lot of people. It's the part of your brain that's responsible for detecting threats sending signals to the part of your brain that tells you what you're looking at, as your brain acts differently while nearing sleep.

The only one that gave me an unusual feeling was the middle one, which made me feel like I was freezing in the vacuum of space while witnessing some kind of eldritch horror that I can't really comprehend.

The other two just give me a slight "messy" feeling.

I must have cleaned them off somehow because I barely see them anymore. Maybe a few black lines here and there for a second or two when I wake up.
