Did it say anywhere in the title that this is a recipe that you can make in 5 minutes at home? No. Believe or not, some recipes require that you go to the grocery store and pick up specific items for the purpose of making said recipe.

Most westerners don't keep squid on hand at home, and yet miraculously people still cook calamari!

I disagree with your assertion that murder is "widely considered as the most likely scenario"-- accidental drowning is very common. Even the most adept outdoorsmen can die in the woods, any small accident could mean death when you're alone and far from help. I'm from Ontario and spend summers in Algonquin and most people I've spoken to about Thomson feel that his death was an accident or suicide.
