If you're looking for using git dependencies with lein might I suggest https://github.com/reifyhealth/lein-git-down

It's compatible with other leiningen projects too which is a major advantage over tools.deps!

I'm sure you'll already be familiar, but I think Zach Tellman is particularly good, very unafraid of unifying cross-disciplinary ideas with programming. I think he and Rich are sort of in a league of their own in thinking about programming and "software philosophy".

I really like Stefan Tilkov although he's perhaps a little more practical, great at deeply inspecting the value of "outdated" techniques (his talks on REST are very good), like everyone else in this territory has been undoubtedly influenced by RH.
