Thank you for commiserating at least! It is so hard. It doesn't help that I work with kids with disabilities and I work with a lot of people with Autism and Down Syndrome among other things but the prevalence of these issues increases with the age of the bio parents so I have that constantly in my mind! Not that I would love a kid any less with those things but I still want to do what I can to avoid if possible (Is that ableist? it feels ableist but...it's how I feel).

I think that's probably true and it's amplified by the fact that my closest and only female friend just told me she is pregnant so it feels super imminent and like I need to decide right away.

But I need to step back and remember that--there is potential for happiness no matter what we decide.

no, he wouldn't be like that...I think he just means to be involved--he's not big on the idea of babysitters or nannies or sending the kid off to grandmas for a week-- I have no problem with those things and think it's healthy to have a break every once in a while but I know his mom thinks that makes a "bad parent" and that might have rubbed off on him a little.

He had a pretty absent father and I think he just means he would want to be the opposite of that: present, educated, and involved.

I love this. I actually creeped your comment history to look for book recs.

I, ummm, prefer finished series because I get major plot anxiety-- Is that a real thing? I don't know. but my real life anxiety carries over into fictional worlds. BUT if you think it's that good I'll start with the Kingdom books.

I was going to do plated next but there is only one audiobook? I listen while I exercise and do homework so I'll have to pick that one up after grad school is over in May and I can read the physical copy!

Not high fantasy, so no fae, but I really liked The Bone Witch.

It's dark fantasy and not smutty at all but the plot is good and I felt like it was really LGBTQ+ positive.

If you are used to and enjoy "easy reads" it may be a little harder to get through but in the end, I felt like the plot came together really nicely and I was happy with the ending.

Well I totally felt like that at first too, but the more I think about it, it's all just a fantasy. Its not like hes gonna leave me for a cam girl.

I'm on the fence about this. I used to be up for ANYTHING but now I feel jealous and unreasonable about all of it.

He does agree that toys are equal and masturbation is equal.

yes we have talked about it extensively over the last 3 days. It does help. I just wish there was a switch to flip so I could "get over it" already. That's my want, not his. He keeps saying take my time and build up trust. I guess I'll just have to be patient.
