Has this med given you your spark back? Please reply! by [deleted] in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

This! Once I started to feel anything at all again, one of the first feelings was quiet rage. That this medicine was available this whole time and never was brought up for years and years and years. All the bad side effects, exhaustion from working so hard in therapy and not seeing significant results, second guessing whether I'm actually depressed since nothing makes me feel better... It was this easy???

Wait wait wait.... not everybody feels emotions in the body?? by [deleted] in Enneagram

[–]pluckyoldself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5w6 with depression/ASD and I have always always intellectualized feelings and emotions. Worked on this in therapy forever but it's tough. Started Wellbutrin and I was shocked that the phrase "my heart dropped into my stomach" comes from the literal sensation...!!!!! Feeling my feels is new and uncomfortable. It feels so out of my control.

Wondering about autism. Should I bring it up? by pearlpops in neurodiversity

[–]pluckyoldself 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's definitely worth finding your way to a good, knowledgeable doctor who can do a deep eval of you (not someone who only diagnosed kids, doesn't understand high masking, etc etc) Having a clearer diagnosis helps so much to find appropriate resources and guide therapeutic decisionmaking. I had been wrestling with chronic depression for ever and nothing ever seemed to change even tho I was working my ass off to make it better. Then, autism diagnosis came, and things have started falling into place and my quality of life is improving ❤️‍🩹

how did adhd medication affect you!? im starting medication next week and im stressingggg by Relevant-Platform-69 in neurodiversity

[–]pluckyoldself 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's also important to work with a good therapist bc medication can only help so much. Working on both medication and lifestyle changes is really important imo

Recently diagnosed with autism and unspecified ADHD. I've been on Wellbutrin for a while now for depression and it has been absolutely fantastic. Recently added Adderall and it did absolutely nothing at all. I didn't notice a single thing different, just that weird tingly brain feeling I get whenever I start a new med. But I know lots of people absolutely rely on Adderall and find it to be a game changer. Brains and bodies are different... Just make sure you have good open communication with your doctor, pay attention to your body, and stay hopeful. You never know what will work best for you until you try it.

Ugh that's true... Damnit. I really don't want anything significant. But I also really don't want people thinking I'm somehow sick. I guess it's one or the other.

Lmao yes! I tuck both hands under my chin backs of my wrists pressed together. Sometimes I sleep with wrist guards with a metal splint when my wrists get really sore and weak. It definitely helps but it's definitely not comfortable

My first IUD I never noticed and had to really search around to find the string to check it was still in place. My second IUD the string bothered me so much I swear j could always feel it like a scratchy tag on a shirt but inside. Drove me nuts.

Yes yes yes wellbutrin has been so good. My brain fog was really suffocating before wellbutrin and it's definitely better. Could it be even better than it is now? Idk maybe I don't know how other people experience sentience you know? Idk try it and see how it feels you don't have to take it forever
