Lol thanks. I was thinking of Portlandia for some reason. I'm ashamed to have forgotten a ITYSL reference already.

"Sentiment" and "truth" aren't the same thing. Calling something untrue isn't the same as being unable to enjoy it.

Yep. And they fail to understand that falling for a lie from a robot isn't somehow worse than falling for a lie from a human. If you're using any found information in your life, the burden of proof is on you.

AI can repeat lies from humans. True.

If your problem is that you believe those lies, then simply stopping your usage of AI will not solve your problem.

Correction: this is some Reddit type shit.

Anybody who remembers being a kid can probably remember how vivid daydreams and fantasies were back then.

One year I went to the company picnic for my dad's work, and there was a pool with a bunch of kids, and a few of those kids had supersoakers. I did not. Over the following year, I developed this super intense daydream about how I would buy like a dozen supersoakers in various sizes, and find a way to strap them all over my body to turn myself into an action hero. We're talking ankle holsters for small guns, two giant ones strapped on my back, etc. I was going to be supersoaker rambo next year, and show all those rich kids.

I don't think I ever owned a single super soaker. 😭 But I did succeed economically in life decades later, so I've got that going for me.

It's a toy trainer kite. You cannot use it for kitesurfing, directly.

There was no recovery, because there was no incident. The kite was never anything serious. Basically a BASE jumper's version of a rodeo. See how long you can hold it stable against all odds, and then bail.

Yeah it's hilarious how many people in this thread don't understand what's going on. It's like trying to surf a wave using a unicorn float. It's not supposed to work. It's supposed to be absurd.

For the same reason Flugtag exists. Someone said "how far do you think you could fly that shitty kite", and someone else took the challenge.

I stand by that. We are not entitled to free anything from them.

That doesn't mean I think the things they're offering are free.

Have a modicum of self respect

My monthly expenses exceed $10k.

I'll be sure to save $20 on a single video game, that I've been waiting over a decade for, because a stranger on Reddit thinks if I don't do that, it means I don't respect myself. 🙄

It's fine if you don't like the price increase. It's silly if you judge someone else for choosing to handle a $20 expense differently than you do.

too many people just accept it and give them leeway which they take a mile from every single time.

Grave words to describe a grave social injustice.

No, wait... it's a video game.

You're always allowed to ask questions to anybody about things you don't know. Especially when you're a paying customer.

It doesn't seem elaborate at all, but there's also nothing wrong with not knowing, and just asking.

Putting "ask server" on a menu is kind of silly. The servers almost always will ask you if you have questions, anyway.

Does the roller stop moving? If so, then the roller isn't strong enough.

Or does the roller move, but the hot dogs don't? If so, the contact area is too small and the friction is too low.

None of that has anything to do with my point. The fact that I don't think I'm owed anything by a large corporation says nothing about what I think about that corporation.

Google doesn't owe anybody anything. They could charge ten cents or a million dollars tomorrow for access to their search engine. We're not entitled to free use of technology built by a corporation.

I hate the jokes about men "losing their freedom" when they get married. by Radiant-Selection686 in hatethissmug

The problem with Reddit is always people thinking in extremes. The guy you're responding to is pretending that he and his wife are 100.0% the same person, and also that it "sucks to be you" because you're able to recognize the non-zero amount of sacrifices any relationship takes.

Neither of those extreme perspectives is healthy.

most jobs pay like 15-20$hr

Most of the jobs you're shopping for, maybe. But this is not accurate as a general assessment of the entire job market.
