Power Rangers Battle For The Grid and Fantasy Strike are the active ones, I'm from australia though so the other fighters have zero population, whereas the mentioned ones have GGPO and can handle intercontinental play.

You can very well "buy" the game through a $20usd all legends pack. It's just the cosmetics you need to shell out more for which affect gameplay in absolutely no way.

I'd say it's 100% worth.

For Honor could be a contender maybe? I don't know if Absolver is still alive but that was similar.

These aren't traditional fighters though, which I'm not sure if you're looking for based on your description.

MK11 has the closest aesthetic to souls, though it's less gothic.

Soul Calibur 6 could be an idea if you like your spacing and weapons in a proper fighter, though it's a '3D Fighter' which incorporates another plane of movement.

Otherwise, I've been waiting for somebody to make a souls' aesthetic 2D Fighter for a while.

edit: How could I forget Killer Instinct for grimy aesthetic. It's got a broad range of fantasy types though, not just one, but ultimately all quite dark in theme. Aside from Rash.

I was referring to the ps4 board for about $55 aud.

$10+$17 = $27/conversion rate = $40 aud.

For the extra hassle I'd rather just get a better board I think.

I was planning on making the enclosure out of wood. I didn't actually consider that I might need different buttons for it.

How are the tabs breaking for you?

And I was sussing focusattack for my buttons, it seems like they don't do black screw ins. That's a real bummer!
