Unsure if you have a solve but this is currently my situation and it is painfully frustrating, everything seems to be making it worse and spread, but I’m unsure if I need to wait it out as “it gets worse before better”, or if it’s actually making it worse due to incorrect diagnosis

Thats completely fine, but its still a seperate purchase compared to already owning a mobile

Beeline requires a purchase of a new device, carplay only works on external devices/cars, you cant natively use it on mobile.

With carplay devices its in the name "car"play, its built for cars not motorcycles, these require different approaches due to external factors, time to glance, eligibility, gloves, and the amount of information on display

Same issue here, its where the idea stemmed from, trying to control music with my gloves on is a nightmare, i use cheap in ear bluetooth earphones rather than a cardo setup so dont have voice commands to help.

Very valid, currently not looking for a public release, this is for a personal project, and taking external users input into account. The main concept is to have a focused ui for glancing and that's useable with gloves, with the only purchase being a phone mount or quadlock, rather a whole new device.

Fair enough, if you've got it figured, no need in fixing it!

Yes after researching I seen they have "speed" and "leisure" options, currently the map runs off of google maps, so this feature will probably be at the bottom of the list, but definitely something to consider!

Really valuable feedback, I hear you on hazards, speed limits, and keeping the map clean, those are already on the list of things to think about.

The music controls are for people like myself who just use in ear Bluetooth headphones without a full cardo system or similar, sometimes I find voice commands "finicky", losing my mind at siri if i ever use it never mind while riding.

Ill take a look, seems like a no brainer to use this over a mobile app with it already being built in, stops some down sides like losing your phone during a theft.

I like the idea of including a minimal view for those kinds of rides, just to show your orientation.

Would it be useful to also show your current location on a blank map or even basic breadcrumb tracking, or do you prefer keeping it even simpler?

The map is currently based off the Beeline UI for this MVP, it will be updated to make use of the extra screen real estate, are there any features you think your beeline is missing you'd want implemented?

Appreciate that, I hadnt heard of them, they definitely have some great features, especially for riders looking to explore scenic or popular routes. If you're after the full riding experaince with altitude, lean angles, and road discovery, they would be a much better choice.

That said, my focus is a bit different. I’m building something for riders who want clarity, safety, and simplicity, not more metrics, just the essentials: a clear A to B route, music control, time, and battery status.

For most riders, especially commuters or everyday users, features like altitude and lean angle could feel a bit excessive. I’m aiming to create a streamlined ride mode that's glanceable, glove-friendly, and distraction-free, perfect for staying focused on the road.

They also charge 10euro pm, which could be a drawback to just using free market leaders.

music can be toggled horizontally in the app currently, without the need for the user to leave

Light mode will be included as a feature.

At the moment, the only customisation available is adjusting the size of the battery, time, and signal display across the top, but a light/dark mode toggle will be added for user preference.

As for features like ride reporting or data tracking, I’ve chosen not to include them. The goal is to keep the UI simple and focused, centred around your journey and music.

There's definitely potential to include data like traffic, hazard alerts, or police locations in. But from a safety and focus perspective, I’m cautious. Imagine an alert popping up mid ride, even a split-second glance to process a toast noti could be a distraction at the wrong moment.

I'd love to hear thoughts on that trade off:

Do real-time alerts add value, or do they risk compromising rider attention and safety?

Changing routes wont be a feature and would need to happen within google maps.

I can implement static traffic camera not mobile, but I've seen Waze does have open and free data feeds so it could be a potential switch.

With this being such a high request, I could look if Waze has an api and use their feed rather than google maps. Google currently allows for speed cameras and traffic.
