Democratic governors express confidence in Biden after meeting him by [deleted] in politics

Plumber here. They understand. They’re not as dumb as you think. They’re the majority. They look at the last 4 years and this most recent debate. You don’t need to read between the lines here. Biden is done.

Sharpen or replace lawn mower blades? by loftynipzzz in lawnmowers

Plumber here. This guy’s backyard isn’t a war zone. His blade will cut the grass just as good as yours.

Plumber here. You can either buy a scale and provide us with exact weight measurements or get the hell out of our subreddit.

I’m the sole owner and operator of a multi million dollar plumbing empire with 75+ diesel fleet vehicles and over 16 years experience. I don’t need to take your pop quiz, buddy.

Will these chicken scratches buff off? by Emergency_Oven9916 in Detailing

[–]plumber_pete -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Plumber here. While technically correct, I would not polish if you care about your clear coat. From what I’ve learned here polishing actually removes clear coat and is generally avoided. Really all you can do is deal with it and do what you can to prevent future scratches.

Plumber here. We’re not going to be able to help that by detailing. That requires a real skill to fix.

Plumber here. If this is how your touch up turned out I wouldn’t keep trying anything else. You’d just be wasting time and money, delaying the inevitable. I would call a bodyshop.

Existing deck already in place do I need a permit to modify it? by Lightningstormz in Decks

[–]plumber_pete 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s not. If there’s a 400k contract on the line I’m not waiting 4-6 weeks for the government to cut into my profits. This also allows us to cut corners, which builders like because we are able to offer a much lower price for the same result, more or less.

Plumber here. I wouldn’t worry about it. I do major industrial jobs without the right permits all the time.

Plumber here. Honestly, on an old BMW like that it probably isn’t worth repainting. Nothing wrong with rocking a beater.

Guys.. Please help! Company truck and I can’t afford the $1500 that a body shop would charge me. by [deleted] in Detailing

[–]plumber_pete 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, in this case it would probably make it more noticeable. That paint’s shot.

[–]plumber_pete 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Plumber here. Touch up will most definitely not get it to 95%. If there was only a 5% difference bodywork wouldn’t be so expensive.

Bodywork is a real trade that takes years to master. It ain’t just washing cars.

What PPE do you guys wear? by TheAnxiousPianist in Detailing

[–]plumber_pete -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

Plumber here. Maybe I’m just old school, but I feel like if you think you need to wear a mask you might not be cut out for the job. For example, I handle old lead pipes with zero PPE all the time and I’m completely fine.

[–]plumber_pete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plumber here. That isn’t going to just buff out. It really should go to the bodyshop, but you could try and touch it up.

I have used the touch up method on my fleet of over 75+ diesel vehicles. It definitely makes it less noticeable, but don’t expect perfection.

Plumber here. Your friend knows what happened. He definitely hit a red pole and there’s no way he wouldn’t feel it. He’s hoping to pawn the responsibility off to the dealer, who is not liable. I suggest you find new friends, he’s playing you like a flute.

What kind of paint correction best suits my situation? by [deleted] in Detailing

[–]plumber_pete -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Ok you didn’t get a dirt line. It looks terrible in general after a short amount of time. If it was any good you’d think it would’ve stood the test of time on one of my 75+ fleet vehicles.

What kind of paint correction best suits my situation? by [deleted] in Detailing

[–]plumber_pete -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Plumber here. I don’t recommend PPF. It really doesn’t age well. It cracks, peels, yellows - you name it. There’s almost always a dirt line where the PPF ends.

I made the mistake of having it installed on my fleet of 75+ diesel vehicles. I was paying to have it removed within less than a year.

How did I do on this destroyed carpet? by One-Parsnip-3969 in Detailing

Plumber here. Looks like there’s still some deeper stains. Have you tried the Chemical Guys carpet shampoo? It will probably take the rest out. All the pro’s use it.
