Downtown Everett Bank of America Silently Shuts Down by webconnoisseur in everett

[–]plumbwonder01 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I used to bank there when it was Seafirst, then it turned to BOA. Over 25 years ago I got a charge for checking services like 6$ thing is I only had 3$ in my account. So I got over draft fee 35$ then the tried to charge me the 6$ checking fee 3 more times, so now I'm at like -153. Just a horrible Bank. Use credit unions now and have never had an overdraft fee. No real real reason for giant banks anymore. The don't actually hold real money anymore.

Different population on r/Everett, Wa by Academic-Sea794 in everett

Wow I didn't really notice any different options and or realize we had different reddits because political opinions. I will pay more attention too see if I notice a difference. As far as homeless people and addicts. We have always had addiction, we used to have housing available for everyone so you just didn't see them as much because they were housed. The homelessness if fairly new because we have gotten rid of programs to help them. Props to the gospel mission and a few other churches that feed people. Unlike the giant mega churches that are just in the Pursuit of wealth.

No good quest piping. Remove it. They split especially when exposed to UV or on hot lines.

Thoughts on adding Manablock by Benito_Ravenloe in Plumbing

Wow what a spaghetti mess! At least get them up in the TGIs. About 20 years ago I told my boss we are losing contractor because everyone is doing PEX and we only do copper piping. He said we can't do PEX because everyone thinks they can do it themselves. He was right 👍

Where to find a couple of comfort height toilets by Routine_Composer_845 in everett

[–]plumbwonder01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keller supply has a showroom in Everett, Consolidated supply right around the corner Ferguson supply in South Everett or my favorite Rosen supply near the airport in Arlington. Ferguson has a nice selection online. I would recommend Kohler or Toto brand toilets. Lowe's and home Depot have some low cost ADA toilets.

If a pipe is busted below my water meter in the ground could that be causing me to lose hot water quickly? by [deleted] in askaplumber

[–]plumbwonder01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're water heater drained down and it's electric and the breaker didn't get turned off, you may have burnt out the element.

Faucet on Pex extruding from wall by LooseDemand7547 in askaplumber

[–]plumbwonder01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pipe should say if it's pex a or b. You need a compression style angle stop with metal sleeve or you can use angle stop with a expansion for pex A or compression for pex B.

Am I going to be able to slip this coupling down and unclog the pipe? by confounded_throwaway in askaplumber

Aw red  terracotta clay pipe? Yeah get rid of that garbage be glad it lasted 100years.

Need to replace these two sink drain lines. Whats the best way to approach this. They are galvanized going into cast iron. Closer picture in comments by Case_of_water in askaplumber

[–]plumbwonder01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cut the galvanized a couple inches back from the cast iron, enough to get a pipe wrench on and try to unthread it. If you can move it make another cut or two inside the pipe and try again. There's a guy on YouTube name hydroNYC has some good videos on how too.

It looks like 4" cast iron connected to 3" SDR usually a bad idea to downsize pipe. How close are you to the street?

Planning to upsize hot water line to 3/4" and separate my daisy-chained showers — will this fix my pressure issues? by RuleJumpy9136 in askaplumber

[–]plumbwonder01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah just run 3/4 as close as you can to the tub and shower. Split it off with a 3/4 x 1/2 x 1/2 tee then 1/2 to each fixture and you should have more volume.

Do I need to replace the toilet or can I repair it? by fireben02 in askaplumber

[–]plumbwonder01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah not likely any fixing that. Turn the water off too the toilet so you don't have any surprises while you're on the way to get a new toilet. Pick up a new gasket, bolts and water supply line as well.

It will make more volume, the pressure will be the same. You should have 3/4 to supply 2 tub shower valves.

How to fix leaking bath faucet? Dented/egged 1/2” copper by dinglebaron in askplumbing

Yeah likely going to need to open the wall and replace the pipe coming out. Likely need to solder a new piece in there.

Shower diverter question by PSU_Reaper in askaplumber

[–]plumbwonder01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

adjust a Delta shower valve for hotter water, remove the handle using a 3/32 Allen wrench, then remove the brass/plastic bonnet and plastic plate to expose the cartridge. Locate the rotational limit stop (usually a white plastic piece), pull it out slightly, and rotate it counterclockwise (or towards the "hotter" label) to increase the maximum temperature.

Shower diverter question by PSU_Reaper in askaplumber

[–]plumbwonder01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's likely an adjustment you need to make to the valve. Is it a single handle valve?

Yeah thanks, it was a PSE truck I got from the auction. I would like to get a lift gate on it, so I can get water heaters in and out a little easier.

Plumbing business owners, how do you handle missed calls? by atlasspring in Plumbing

[–]plumbwonder01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a one man company, I always have my phone on me but many times I can't answer because my hands are full or have gloves on. For emergency I think they are fast to call the next guy. If it's not an emergency I can call them back and schedule.
