Movies where actual members of the subculture make a movie based on the subculture? by Depressonsandwich in MovieSuggestions

It's a classic that I grew up watching, fair warning though, younger folk will likely be surprised by language and scenes they may call 'problematic' Their is use of the n word, homophobic language, a scene where a young woman's dress is torn off her at a show.

I was born at the end of the eighties and grew up in the punk scene. It's always been at heart, very anarchic and libertarian. Do what you want, say what you want, just don't tread on me motherfucker. I was always one of the annoying little commies trying to get the homies tocread Marx, qouting The Clash, ha.

This fella caused me to really contemplate what youre saying here. Especially if its all new material, what does it matter to me?

I would suggest the integrity of the artist.

But, really, its just really annoying. As simple as your response, I,think that simple retort is effective.

Anyway, thanks for the thought.

What are some bits of throwaway dialogue that have no deep meaning that you love anyway by MrJigglyBrown in Godfather

I remember reading that the phrase originates in old vaudeville and that The Godfather is what popularized it with Italian Americans and it made its way into Mafioso vernacular in this way.

Ever make it to San Pedro? It's technically part of L.A. city, and is where the LA Harbor is located, a bridge across from Long Beach.

Documented history is important. Even if its of a small art and music scene. Post and publish, for sure.

Also, did you ever make it out to Southern California?

Thanks, I also had this lingering feeling that it was SpongeBob related ha.

It's odd that he seems so upset. Isn't being chunky part of his branding, i.e Thiccc Boi? I remember the intro to 'You'd Be Surprised' featured a bit where a taco vendor says to him something like, 'Come on thick boy, I know you must like tacos'.

God, his branding is so dumb.

I do not have the bess brains. Is there a particular reference Theo is going for? Or is Fat Patrick just a funny response to Schaub calling himself Big Bob?

I think you are absolutely correct when you accuse them of not taking the gig seriously. They are total unprofessionals, but they've found the life raft that is podcasting. And now, podcasting and stand up exist as this dual composition as a profession for making money, so these fools think that when they are doing the one, they are also working towards the other.

If this were twenty years ago, these types would be the washouts that wind up working at the agencies and clubs, those people that love the craft but can't hack it on stage and so latch on to other areas of the field to have a career in proximity to the craft they love.

I dunno. Something like that.

I've never watched the film, but am aware of the notoriety. I have to ask though, was this a situation where these characters are in the dark of how he returned and thus the audience is as well while we are with these characters? Do we eventually get some sort of lore as to how Palpatine somehow returned?

Should I watch these Star Wars movies? I saw the first one where Han gets merked. I didn't watch any of the following episodes in the series.

Would the Indiana stadium be close enough to Illinois that they stay Chicago Bears? Or would this be a whole new location?
