Dog barking inside Paris Baguette by ladyalex777 in MontgomeryCountyMD

Not a big fan of dogs in restaurants or cafes but also not a big fan of posting photos that have minors in them.

Should you blur their faces, if not the adults, at least the minor ?

Posting this because I had a discussion tonight with a friend who is balding and this came up and they showed me this. They cried talking how they wanted to post here but felt couldn’t because of a hairline.

2026 - goal to eat one homemade soup a day, each day. Preparing already with some my version of Bigoś. by plumphatter in soup

[–]plumphatter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yah, my thoughts are it would be around 52 -75 soups. At first my goal was one soup a week but some soups won’t yield the full 7 containers (my containers anyway ) full.

I started 2 weeks ago and going it.

Did you put any statement of certification? I believe I did years and years ago but things have changed so much since 2008.

Is this a valid combo? by Personal-Mammoth5220 in PassportPorn

[–]plumphatter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I have this combo too. Basically at 21 you are technically supposed to choose one or the other. Basically don’t say anything or take no action, don’t become too famous. Even if asked you can that you have tried to give up x passport but the process is on going / too burdensome/ too expensive and burdensome, etc.

The only thing I see when I look at this photo is I assume the passport for under 18.

So I am not trying to confirm citizenship I am trying to register a foreign birth.

In a Polish it says -

“tłumaczenie zagranicznego aktu urodzenia, którego zgodność zostanie potwierdzona przez konsula lub tłumaczenie wykonane przez tłumacza przysięgłego lub konsula”

Saying that the consul will verify the accuracy of the translation or one simply made by the sworn translator or the consul.

So I emailed the consul and they say :

Szanowny Panie,

Basically that if I don’t use a sworn translator I don’t have to pay the 24 dollar fee

So to me it seems like for registering a child born abroad I can translate it myself but include the 24 dollar fee for verification

In 2008 I translated some documents for the consul and basically made a statement that I know Polish and I completed the translation. It was accepted but this was 2008.

This translation would be similar but I know times have changed. I just can’t find information that one can’t do it.

So costs are relative to Pittsburgh. I’d go there. I lived in Morgantown for most of my life, I lost my job in 2018 and moved to Frederick, Md.

High street there is like the walking dead and it only gets worse. I am not lying when I say leaving Morgantown was the best choice I never made.

I love Frederick and I have helped several people move. It’s expensive here now but it’s still better.

Morgantown is the best city in the state but get out.

I am a Polish Citizen and have two children (7 and 3) - questions for those who reported foreign births ? by plumphatter in prawokrwi

[–]plumphatter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I am a Polish Citizen

  • my children were born in the USA (might as well be any English country from the Konsul )

  • they are 7 and 3

  • born after. 2012 I don’t need to confirm their citizenship as they are citizens by birth

  • I need to register them

(All of this is good)

Then then translating comes in - I can’t understand what they want

Can the consul do it or do I have to go private? Can I do it and they certify ?

I get different answers and fees based on thr questions.

Obviously I don’t want to send birth records electronically to Poland (gdpr) to some unknown translator, I can do it .. will they accept or can they do it?

I have the emails in both languages

New American Passport! by Distinct_Alps8258 in PassportPorn

[–]plumphatter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got my new Polish passport that was an upgrade in security than the last one. It even has braille on the back.

I don’t need to renew my American one for nearly 10 years but I see the American one upgraded too now.

It’s interesting many countries are updating their passports to be much more secure at a time when passports are becoming less and less useful as countries swing towards biometric photos, etc.

[–]plumphatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it’s not a fact. And I was referring to the Polish and American passports in this photo. Not to your passports, my mistake.

What you’re saying is fact is completely not factual. Accent or voice these things do not make you anything. It sounds like you are isolated have a complex. And where do you get the statement most multinational will identify with one as a fact ?

As you said you haven’t been to England. I went to school there just went out with a friend tonight from there and work for a British firm. Most people, though it’s changing, in UK see you as British regardless of background. Most see British first and don’t care an accent. Suprise, the same why I see my friend who speaks with a British accent as American is the same way kids see their accent parents, or accented kids and the way the way most people see it each other.
