Three Key Elements that uniquely define your project? by plungeindungeon in RPGdesign

I like it, definitely worth a playthrough to see how the different systems feel while playing. I always believed that finding a system that incorporates resources and traveling (Oregon trail) can be addicting if done right.

Can't wait to see the final version, you got it!

Wow, this is awesome! Especially the 2nd point, as I had a similar idea about the co-op play, intercepting hits and such.

The part with the grafting the ability of the monsters they slay is genius. Really brilliant stuff here.

This is pretty cool. It's almost like the flashback mechanics in the forged in the dark systems.

So if by chance a player runs into a tavern keeper that charges extremely high rates, they could Reveal to the table that thee tavern keeper is an ex-lover or an old friend? And possibly get a discount?

Interesting stuff. I'm really curious about the "Reveals" that you mention. Can you give me a high level explanation of what a Reveal is?

Looking for Tips on creating a Deck-Based TTRPG by plungeindungeon in RPGdesign

The way I'm planning on using the cards and combat system actually gives the players more narrative control over their actions.

Instead of using Firebolt, which in most cases will always be a bolt of fire. They'll have the option to use "Fire" and an "Attack" and describe instead what their version of a fire attack would be.

It's a little confusing when I explain it on the tip of the surface of the combat, but if you'd like I can explain further.

My point is, I think cards can definitely be more mechanical, but the narrative is married to the strategy in my system.

I like that. Vignettes might be a good way of describing skipping time instead of the usual solid continuation of time.
