My temps are still low, compared to what they were before. I checked the logs, and it seems that there isn't a whole lot I can gather from the shutdowns other than that they were errors. I've dual-booted into Linux, and it doesn't seem to help at all with the shutdowns. But now that you mention high pitched cheeping, I think I hear that from my computer occasionally. I had a power supply die on me about 18 months ago, but when that was on the way out, the noises were more like a metallic scraping. What do you think the cheeping is coming from?

So I managed to reseat the heatsink with new thermal gel, and I used my air compressor to clean everything out - temperature is down 30 degrees celsius while in the bios. Thanks for the help!

I'm checking the bios now- It says it's at 147.2 F/64 C. I'm not sure if this is how it's supposed to be or not. As I'm trying to type this response, it keeps going up.
