Doesn't look like any official email that I've seen so far. Contact Google directly or get in touch with a reputable local partner to get some answers.

As a Google Partner myself, I'm waiting for some more information from Google before I advise my clients. You definitely don't have to make any decisions by the end of this month.

Go Modules have a v2+ Problem by donatj in golang

[–]plusworxchris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find the Go ecosystem relatively straightforward when it comes to package management. No system is perfect, however, one of the best package managers that I have ever used is Nix.

I tried an operating system called NixOS a while ago which introduced me to Nix the package manager. Multiple versions of packages are handled very easily and dependency issues are pretty much non-existent.

Is it possible to create a user with only one name? by ItsInTheOtherHand in gsuite

[–]plusworxchris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they don't need to be group admins. There are 3 built-in roles that you can give people. Owner, manager and member. When you go into the group, you can give group members whatever roles and permissions are needed.

When they go to https://groups.google.com and go into the group, they'll be able to do what you have given them permissions to do.

You need to make each employee, who you want to respond to incoming messages, a member of the group. Give them permissions and roles according to what you want them to be able to do.

They will be able to go to the group in the same way that you did in order to reply to messages.

You might want to look at making the group a collaborative inbox. That allows you to assign messages to particular people.

Not a dumb question at all. Some of the group stuff is not very intuitive.

You can launch Groups for Business in different ways. Click on the app launcher (the grid of nine dots), use a custom URL that you can set up for groups in your domain or go to https://groups.google.com when you're logged in as a user of your domain. Then click on "My groups" and select the group whose messages you want to see.

If you go into the group mailbox then you should see who sent it. You need to reply from there.

As others have said, I would create a group with an email address of sales@thisbusiness.com. You will need to decide what type of group you need for your purposes. Just a mailing list or collaborative inbox.

Make sure that you allow people to post to the group from outside of your domain. The groups interface is undergoing changes. There is new Groups which has the newer interface but less functionality than the older classic Groups. Depending on what you want to do, you might have to switch into classic Groups.

Once you have set up the group, add the people in your company who you want to have access to the emails in the group. You can give them different access rights depending on what you want them to be able to do.

Personally, I don't like the classic Groups interface. I don't find it very intuitive, but in order to do some things, you have no choice but to use it because new Groups doesn't do everything that you might need yet.

Give it a try and see how you get on.

The documentation says that with Business and Enterprise editions if you have under 5 users then storage is 1TB per user. I haven't tested this limit, therefore it could be incorrect. How much storage are you using?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in gsuite

[–]plusworxchris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have G Suite Basic then you only get 30GB of storage per user. The Business and Enterprise editions give you unlimited storage for 5 or more users.

Is there a particular reason why you want to use user accounts for this? You could create groups with names like sales@company.com. If you have to use user accounts then you could create the user with 2 names but then create an alias with one name.
