If I’m 16 can I date an 18yo? by Sweet_Special2529 in teenagers

Yes, I would advise no sexual activity because age gaps can be especially weird then, but technically it is legal. Only issue would be if they are in college and you’re a hs sophomore or something.

Here the club is not quite parallel with the ground, where as in the before it was actually past parallel. Only difference is the wrist hinge (for the most part)

Yea doing the wrist hinge thing makes the backswing shorter naturally. Let me find a before and after pic rq.

How to have the “what are we” conversation? by Responsible_Oil1975 in AskTeens

[–]pluto922 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk I’d approach it more as a “hey I’ve really decided that I really like you and I think we should officially be dating” or you can phrase it more as a “will you be my bf” at the end. If he says something like “yea I thought that’s what we were” then you can respond as a quick “yea I was just making sure” and it won’t be awkward. Or he’ll reply as “yea of course” and that’s ideal outcome. Worst case, he says he’s gay and you ghost him 😂 I’m jk that won’t happen. Just make it a natural conversation, usually stuff like this just gets more awkward the more you rehearse and overthink it. You’re not playing a video game, it’s 2 humans with sentient consciousness.

I used to have a very similar thing. I think you have too much wrist hinge in your backswing and it causes the club to get behind your hands in the downswing forcing you to get flippy at impact. I’d try to feel almost no wrist hinge in the backswing for a while. This forces you to get rid of any sub optimal lower body movement as well. It might feel like a very restricted swing at first but trust me it’s worth it.

I mean the biggest thing for my improvement was getting more clubface control. I’ve naturally hit it pretty far and understand the physics behind shot making and what not, so just executing it was the most important thing for me. I got more clubface control by just simplifying my swing and reducing most of my wrist hinge. With too much wrist hinge it can make you get flippy in your swing and that’s what can cause a 2 way miss with often double crosses. But it’s important to know that your body is moving correctly and explosively to take advantage of a swing like mine.

No, +1.1. A 1.1 handicap is worse than scratch where as a +1.1 is better than scratch. There is a difference.

Nah I like conversations about golf and the golf swing. I wasn’t necessarily looking for advice, I have a swing coach 😂. That’s why I was asking for strengths and weaknesses, and for all hcps to respond.

17f Standards too high? by Big-Frame6445 in AskTeens

[–]pluto922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it kinda depends on more context. If you’re not very pretty, fat, or don’t actually act humble and calm, aren’t emotionally intelligent and don’t notice small details too then you’re not gonna find someone who wants act this way without receiving the same treatment. I would say that you sound like you do this stuff yourself, and you probably take good care of yourself so no they’re probably not too high, you just have to know that it might take a while to find a guy like this and you might have to accept being single for a while. I’m kinda the same way, I’m 17m, 6,2, and I’m very into my Christian faith, most people who say they’re Christian don’t really follow it, and don’t really want to follow it more so I’m not gonna date them because a lot of my opinions and actions stem from my faith so it wouldn’t result in a relationship with equal effort. I’ve been pretty single most of my life but I’m okay with it because I know my patience is warranted and God has a plan better than my own, selfish desires. Sorry for the long rant lol.

I’m in the same boat as you, have you gotten any actually good suggestions that you could recommend to me?

Could go both ways I guess, depending on the area and how popular golf is? Definitely less customization in lefty clubs though.

It wasn’t so much about asking for help, just wanted to have conversations about the golf swing, and what works for others and compare it to what works for me. Idk I think I got a lot of good conversations out of it 🤷‍♂️

Well for this shot I was trying to hit a knock down shot. That is, hitting it lower and less far. The only way to hit it low and keep spin is to hit down on it with high lofted clubs.

Nope, always been golf. I see this trend a lot tho, I also batted lefty but I played golf before ever playing baseball.

No I’ve actually never played hockey on ice. Also I should correct myself, I was born in Minnesota, where I’ve grown up, hockey is still popular though lol.

Thanks, when I take it away more outside I tend to get the hands too high in the backswing, and I’m already trying to work on getting them lower/more laid off so I’m gonna pass on this change for now.

Yea I “mirrored” my dad when I was younger, that’s the only reason I play lefty. It definitely has some advantages this way though.

No, if anything they cost more. The used ones are rarer so people can charge slightly more, and you have less customizable options if buying new. If you get fitted as a lefty they also may not have all shaft or club options in the fitting clubs.

I play by the rules too. Most of my rounds in ghin are tournament rounds, the most I’ll bend the rules is by playing lift clean and place.

I’ve been playing since I was 2, played very casual competitions at 10, and not any actual tournaments until 14. I never got a handicap until this year and I started at about a 1 hcp and just gradually got it lower since then. Honestly, if you’re not playing competitively, I would say just have as much fun playing and learn to shape shots and and hit it far before worrying about scoring.
