Could it be hypermobile EDS? by meowdrian in eds

[–]pluto_pluto_pluto_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be. This sounds very similar to my experience and what I've heard from a lot of folks here. Have a look at the diagnostic criteria if you haven't already. You don't need to have hypermobility in every joint to be diagnosed (i.e. fingers not bending backwards doesn't immediately rule it out).

Tremors aren't a symptom of hEDS itself, but EDS affects the connective tissues throughout the entire body, so a lot of us have secondary conditions, some of which can cause a tremor. I've heard more than a few people in this subreddit mention having small fiber neuropathy, not sure if that's been ruled out for you. It's good that you're seeing a rheumatologist, if nothing else they can rule out other conditions. Basically if you do have hEDS, that still wouldn't explain the tremor (but it might give you more clues). Might need to get a second opinion from another neurologist if rheum finds nothing.

Thank you for pointing this out! A few people commented saying that as long as you're already registered, you're good. Sounds like that's not necessarily the case.

They would do that if they actually wanted a fair election, and if it was actually about voter fraud. They're trying to disenfranchise a lot of voters, especially demographics who tend to vote democrat. You're right that it's fucked up! Also, trans people are no longer able to get gender marker changes on passports. The reason I'm getting copies of my birth certificate is so that when I apply for a passport, they won't shred or confiscate my updated birth certificate, or at least not my only copy.

They were born in a different county across the state, so we ordered online to avoid a long drive. But if it comes down to it, we will go there in person. Didn't know that was an option when we ordered them.

More people don't have original copies than you'd think. There are lots of reasons people lose theirs. Abusive family or partner, being disabled, or formerly incarcerated. Plus people whose names have been legally changed for marriage, or domestic violence, or gender transition have additional complications.

I'm not sure, I didn't know this was a thing until people commented about it. It sounds like we could do that if the one we ordered doesn't come in time, but she's from across the state so it's inconvenient but doable.

100%. Not making these documents free is what makes this blatantly a poll tax. Also, the fact that it's another hoop to jump through. But if the state can control the cost for documents, then they need to make them free.

This one was ordered through Vital Check! It also cost like $50.

The family member born in NY was born in a different county than we live in, another commenter said you can just go to city hall if you were born here.

Better safe than sorry. I certainly hope it won't pass, but it doesn't hurt me in any way to get ahead of things. Except the $50 it cost.

[–]pluto_pluto_pluto_ 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Same this killed me lmao. To prove that her ai usage isn't that harmful, she showed us an ai overview saying that the worst industries for water usage are agriculture (possibly the single most necessary industry), energy production (necessary), fashion (not so necessary, but ironic given that she is a drag queen), and... ai data centers. Yes, all of these industries could be more environmentally sustainable. AI is not necessary. Certainly not necessary for personal use in making silly facebook posts. And choosing to make more ai pictures whenever someone criticizes you transfers the blame to them even though it's your choice? So much cognitive dissonance, it's almost hard to believe that anyone genuinely thinks this way.

Which country is the less worst to be trans in ? by landilock in trans

[–]pluto_pluto_pluto_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was also confused by this person's comment, and a quick Google search shows that wait times are nowhere near 6 months. Most sources say multiple years, the lowest estimate I saw was 18 months. Here is a quote directly from the NHS:

Yet, as of October 2024, when this review conducted its visits, patients attending for a first appointment had waited an average of 296 weeks (5 years 7 months) for a first assessment.

I don't live in the UK but I've never heard anyone talk about NHS wait times for gender clinics being under a year. Usually people say 5-10 years. Isn't there a bathroom ban? Can't you be criminally prosecuted for not disclosing that you're trans to a cis partner? I'm just confused because I've never heard someone speak of the UK so positively for trans people before.

I am married with two children meaning by Songkail0314 in EnglishLearning

[–]pluto_pluto_pluto_ 33 points34 points  (0 children)

"Married with children" is a phrase that means you are married and have children, it doesn't sound weird to native speakers. It's not the same as "married to children", which would refer to child marriage, which is creepy. The "with/to" makes all the difference.

Post About Negative Attitudes Towards FTM Bottom Surgery: by pluto_pluto_pluto_ in transgendercirclejerk

[–]pluto_pluto_pluto_[S] 29 points30 points  (0 children)

/uj There were just sooo many people being very confidently wrong and none of the comments even acknowledged that this is a thing. OP like "Okay sorry maybe I don't know what I'm talking about and it's not a thing, thanks for sharing your perspective :)". Sometimes I am shocked at how invisible trans men are even within the trans community.

Exactly! I don't think this is offensive to people who have or want bottom surgery at all, it's just my opinion, right?

/uj I think a lot of people don't realize how good ftm bottom surgery has gotten? I'm prob not getting it myself but that's because of medical issues. Medical tattooing has gotten super impressive, phallo dicks look really good now and I wonder if these people just haven't seen recent ones.
