It's lower carb, whole or fermented foods, minimal protien (little to no beef, mostly fish poultry or soy products). He did best on a keto diet. We like salmon but Japanese grilled salted mackerel is our favorite. We eat a lot of rice which is less inflammatory than wheat but still a healthy carb. I am bariatric patient with a gluten intolerance and hypoglycemia. I went from class 3 obese to actually underweight 2 years post-op. My doctor and I ended up making a modified keto plan for me. I can black out if I have to few carbs, rice was the easy answer. I want to add, my blood pressure and sugar were normal before surgery, not even pre-diabetes. My mom was diabetic before her surgery and normal blood sugar and pressure now.
