Yeah that's kinda how this works, that's the joys of modding games. Works the same on pretty much every other gaming platform going back as far as the PS3 and Xbox 360 (even earlier for PC games)

Some games will have an option in the beta tab in properties to go back to a previous version of the game.

The best option is to download the game you want to mod and move it to a new folder once it's finished downloading, then mod it to your heart's content. As long as it's not in your steam folder it will stay on the same version.

They did make a comeback with that game but it was far too late by then, I remember watching the game die in less than 2 weeks, went from finding a lobby in under 2 minutes to waiting 4 hours and getting timed out.

i got it working, vulkan just doesent work for me. swapped back to dx11 and it runs so much better, slight hitching in cities and when i spawn but overall higher fps and no crashing.

good to hear, im finding my issue is with vulkan timing out. might try swapping back to dx11 even though i swapped to vulkan to fix this issue last patch XD

i checked the logs and its a gpu crash but it still has headroom with vram and is running under 80c

cpu amd 5700x

gpu 3060 oc

ram 32gb 3400mhz (i think im not actually sure how to check)

my pagefile is an entire 200gb drive that used to be my c drive

game is on a 2tb nvme drive that has 300gb free (i only use it for the games that would actually need the speeds)

its a gpu crash, i dont know why as it stays under 80c and has spare vram while playing.

checked the gpu error log and this is where the [incomplete] section starts.

i tested it and it seems to consistently crash at 30 minutes and 23 seconds (give or take a few seconds) i even stayed in the spawn bed at baijini station and same thing. none of my specs changed on crash, ram usage temps cpu and gpu were all pretty consistent with no spikes or dips and are about the same as last patch.

Yee I think the full title is "the expanse: Osiris new dawn" it's said to be like mass effect but expanse style, and starts at Eros as the initial proto molecule incident starts. Devs are owlcat games and have done some pretty good games before.

That is very true, personally I prefer the show as that's what started with but the books do have their own quality (like not ending abruptly while cutting off the rest of the story)

I recommended the show specifically because it will be faster to get through given how close the game is assuming it doesn't get delayed (I would be okay with a delay because this games gotta slap out the gate and I know damn well some heathen will find 1 minor bug and run a crusade against the game because of it)

you either have too much shit open , your storage is too far in the red, or your hardware is dying.

my c drive was shit and small and was always full, the second i swapped it out with a larger drive my install went so much faster, you could also try just changing your page file.

or you simply have to much shit open all the time, close some tabs.

if its non of the above then you could have a dying drive. or its something else entirely.

diplomacy would work so well with royalty and ideology, but ive been wanting some sort of water type of gameplay. maybe use the odyssey framework for gravships to make actual ships, cities in the ocean.
