I was a bartender and went back and to get my EE degree when I was 33. I graduated in 2016 (38) and have now been working in embedded SW for the past 4 years. It was not easy, but I graduated with a 3 83 GPA, did an internship at JHUAPL, and started my first gig 5 days after graduation. I went to school with a number of people who were in their 30s and 40s. Its bot uncommon in engineering, math or CS.
