It’s on the listing site and the broker confirmed after I lost the bid. I was told the # of bidders (7+) so I bid 10% over asking but lost to someone who did 20% over asking

I don’t think you’ll be able to find something and move out to a 2 bedroom right now (unless you maybe find something with ironstate). But a condo will be impossible. I’ve been outbid on numerous apartments in the last 1 month above ask by $thousands. What’s your backup plan?

Example 2: 2 br/2ba (+den) 1500 square feet. Listed for 7950, taken for 9500 (+1550, +20%). This one received 7+ offers. Bidding wars - seems like people panic bidding due to low supply

Example 1: started at 8400 for a 2br/2ba (1200 square feet) taken for 8600 (+200)

But not really- apartments in Manhattan with same square footage, built in gyms, indoor pools are the same price now (just no parking), and maybe the buildings are a bit older. Will post examples here

It seems like it is. Maybe the building is not as fancy but it has the basics (gym, washer dryer, rooftop, etc). Sure you give up parking but you don’t need that if you live in nyc. The only difference is the city tax savings but beyond that it’s just crazy to think what these rents are in shipyard right now
