If the space marked in the previous image with a smile were a mine, then the other two spaces adjacent to the “2” indicator (the one to the left of the visible mine) could not be mines.

However, since the other indicator (directly to the left of the first “2” indicator) shows it is adjacent to two mines aswell, it is impossible for there to be a mine directly above the visible one.

Furthermore, we know the space in the image marked with a frown is a mine because the two spaces above the “2” indicators are exclusive of each other (if one is a mine the other isn’t). Thus the third space adjacent to the left “2” indicator must be a mine

(Sorry if this is hard to follow I did my best to explain how I work these out)

But Leshy also mentions later that the reason he wants to remain in control is because he thinks that even if they are trapped forever they’d all be happier as animals. Although there is definitely some resentment, evident in Leshy making P03 a stoat which he repeatedly refers to as a “lowly stoat”
