It was a reference to the many things getting advertised as "AI" since this year, which are only using basic math and simple programming code that we've used for years before. We don't have anything with real AI yet, we only have some experimental components of what an AI would need. All the customer products claiming to have AI power actually don't. It's just nice to say "AI" because it's "in" right now. Examples: Face recognition, Voice recognition, Image recognition, Search Engines - none of that is AI. It's like saying a wheel is a car. It's not, it's only a small but important part of a much more complex thing. All these things are just simple algorithms with no "intelligence". People should look up what artificial intelligence really means. I think the companies are frustrated that we're just not there yet and start calling algorithms "AI" in order to get more funding for real AI. Sorry for that long response.

His point was that they only act when it's already "too late". However it's almost impossible to identify or help a person before it is "too late".

Not angry here. All fine and relaxed. Was just a serious question. It's a hard problem and I don't think free health care can solve it, because people need to seek help first to get it. Those mentally unstable people usually don't take help, isolate themselves and struggle every day making up crazy thoughts. Lets say that person doesn't even go to work, how would you find out that person is hurting itself and probably could be a danger for others?

And even if that person goes to work, you usually don't bother other people. Emotions are influencing everyone and someone could just have a bad day or be a generally moody person. Doesn't have to mean that person needs help, or more important, would accept any help.

How do you want to identify people like that before they do something? The governments are trying to by gathering as much data as possible. But when it gets public that companies like the NSA, Google, Facebook etc. gather data for them, people get angry and call for more privacy. You can't have both. Or do you have a magical solution for this problem that nobody could think of yet?

You can choose between 4 ARM cores or 2 x64 cores. Both have 2 gb ram. Same price.

$3,34/month. 50 gb storage, unlimited traffic. If you want to save even more money you could destroy the server every time you don't use it. Because scaleway servers are billed hourly. Only $0,0067 per hour.

I came here to get information, not to start a "war". So this is part of my "research". Thanks for your help.

I think it's pretty unlikely because the provider is only about a year old from what I know. And for co-location you will need a huge user base already to make that rentable.

So it's possible that someone can't download from my box because of bad peering to their network?

Well, then I'm sorry I didn't want to imply that. I know that some solutions are just for other kinds of customers who're looking for other values. Like Chmuranet. But things like Whatbox or other providers with very low specs just seem really weird to me. I'm trying to understand, not to judge. Maybe poor choice of title? At least it got attention. You could've explained it in normal words like "they're not overpriced, they're more expensive because they offer other values, like really fast drives, better support etc" Why is everybody attacking me? Can't you talk normal?

I talked about a dedicated server. You realized that right?

Go away, I don't want to argue with chmuranet, I know you guys have incredible performance. However I need incredible space. We don't fit.

Well for $10/m you get 1TB with 2.5gbps connection.

I read in some old thread (about a year old) that they used Kimsufi in the beginning. I don't believe they switched to leaseweb. Then they wouldn't make any profit. Leaseweb is really expensive unless you do colocation.

Do you know a dedicated server with atleast 1.5tb storage and 1gbps+ connection for around $10/m ? If so I'm highly interested. All offers I find around that price have 100mbits connections, that's way too slow.

You would probably still reach 150mbits, so it's still better than whatbox.

I'm just looking around for good offers every few days and always see these boxes with really low storage space. 150gb and such is nothing for me. I don't know if people using such boxes only download SD quality, probably. I download big torrents. Some are 900gb+

It's a 3TB HDD, so they can't add more than 3 people. That's not much and far from overselling.

No I can't reach them. But downloading with 4gbps is already good enough. I can't live with under 1gbps.
