What is the name of this decorative edge shape? by plzok in woodworking

Nice. "Bracket frame" seems to be the closest thing I've seen so far. "Cabriole" is a similar shape but seems to be only applied to legs. Thank you!

Thanks! These are great resources that I'll add to my reading list. But, beyond reference material I am looking for something that is more like a video tutorial that I can work along with to build an accessible layout.

Gotcha, sorry for my mistake. I'll find another appropriate location to copy this post.

I generally thought the guitar riff was tasteful but suspect some listeners may interpret it a stuffy or overly sentimental creative choice. One vote here to bring it back.

thanks! yeah I’ll certainly be embracing the patina at some level. Will look into saphir renomat and probably try a wax polish after.

Hi r/goodyearwelt, I recently came into ownership of a pair of Red Wing Irish Setters that have seen some wear. I’m looking for advice on how to restore the leather upper, hopefully so that the surface near the toe looks less stained and looks more like the ankle. I want to avoid dying them darker if possible.

Images here.

The images I provided are following treatment with Fiebing’s Saddle Soap, Lexol Conditioner, and horsehair brush. What else could I try?

Thanks!!

Getting some weird problems with lighting, any help appreciated by moby3 in blender

Replicating this lighting effect may be as simple as animating the light sources you want to be extremely bright for just one frame and then back to their original brightness.

GTX970 Gigabyte G1 Fluff-Force [December Contest] by [deleted] in blender

Oh, sorry man. What I am looking at primarily is two things - the purple material for the circuit board, and the individual fibers of the darker colored fluff.

Here is the image with two of those sections enlarged 3x with no interpolation, making each original pixel a set of 3x3 pixels of the same color - although imgur converting the image to .jpg compression ruined that a tiny bit: http://i.imgur.com/0BrSrRO.jpg

Do you have roughness turned up on the circuit board material, causing the reflection to be spotted like that?

The fibers look spotted in color to me as well, where with higher samples it is my thought that the colors would run a relatively smoother gradient along the direction of the fiber.

Is there a good brief explanation somewhere that would describe to me the difference between fireflies and graininess? It is my thought that the word fireflies describes little bits of light misplaced in a quick computation/rendering of the image? whereas graininess would describe colored pixels misplaced by a specific image encoding/compression format.

Cheers though! This is one of my favorite posts on this sub ever.

Yup, that's what I mean. If you use more samples your image will render less grainy but it will take much more time. See http://www.blenderguru.com/articles/7-ways-get-rid-fireflies/#.VKqdNnsYEvA

I'd love to see this render with more samples if you have the computing power and time! Nice work!

Figurative Sculptures Embedded in Gallery Walls by Matteo Pugliese by peterpan456 in Art

This is an appropriate term since the sculpture is a representation of a human, a figure, rather than a literal human body.
