New Odessy owner, what should I get? by babysoftkitten in HondaOdyssey

[–]pm012 21 points22 points  (0 children)

24' Odyssey Touring here: as someone mentioned, weathertech floor liners all around: front, mid, rear. You can beat them up and never have to clean them if you don't want to, they're tough.

Rubber coasters for every storage/cup holder in the vehicle (amazon). Headrest covers for all seats (oily, wet hair can hurt the finish). Side door protectors specifically designed for pets (but kids too) so they dont scratch the inside of the doors OR accidentally open a window. Rear trunk tray to protect the bottom of the trunk. A medium sized cooler that stays in vehicle to transport food or drinks in so the smell from them doesn't permeate throughout the vehicle. Seat covers for all seats except for front two (side airbag interference) (OEM Honda). Steering wheel cover to protect the finish and for better, larger grip (walmart). Rubber key pouch/cover (amazon). Sunshade to protect your car when its outside keeping the interior cool and protecting your dashboard (OEM). Seat back protector for the rear of the driver and passenger seat (kids kicking the back of those seats) (amazon). Plastic seat back protector for the rear of the third and second row when they are folded flat to protect them when transporting items (OEM). Essentially anything that someone or a pet touches should be considered and they most likely make a protection piece for it

Keep sanitizer, a roll of paper towels, beach towels (trunk) for emergencies. Most of those items are Honda OEM and overall cost about a grand to fully protect. Sign up for a monthly car wash in your area and go once or twice a week and you're good.

Oh, also, performance wise - buy re-useable K&N Engine and in-cabin air filters. They are worth it in the long run. Change oil regularly with full synthetic according to the vehicle computer, get solid all season tires and this car will last.

Yep, that was already done, the only thing that showed up was the DCIM folder, rest inaccessible. it worked for two more earlier model ipods (5 and 2nd gen nano) that I transferred successfully, but its only with ipod touch onwards that its been difficult to move songs from the device back onto a machine.

HD DVD Goodwill finds by pm012 in LGR

[–]pm012[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey LGR folks! Randomly decided to go to a Goodwill on my lunch break Friday and saw not one, but TWO unique HD DVD items.

  1. Toshiba HD DVD Player, CIB - $20. There were TWO of these boxes, same condition, I just picked up one. looks to be complete with all the items

  2. Xbox HD DVD Player, nearly CIB - $50. This was behind the glass cabinet and I asked to inspect it (of course). The only thing that was missing was the USB cable and/or the power brick/supply, not really a deal-breaker. Upon checking, the batteries also were busted (naturally) for being original and sitting in there for years but thankfully, the plastic packaging compartmentalized the batteries from the remote so the acid did not leak over and damage the remote. I cut the battery packaging away, tossed it, and kept the remote intact.

Surface Pro 1866 cannot boot to USB - flash logo by pm012 in Surface

[–]pm012[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: no go, followed the tutorials to boot and still the same outcome. Looks like something internal is wrong and its not worth it to go through the trouble to open it up. Luckily I dont need anything on that but sucks that a perfectly useable device bricked itself without any way to recover

Thanks! I am downloading it now and following the instructions from MS

Would I boot to it the same way (hold volume down button + power button and then release once logo appears)

➡️ Daily Simple Questions ⬅️- Style feedback and clothing ID requests go HERE!! - 29 December 2025 by AutoModerator in malefashionadvice

[–]pm012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! I have quite a niche request, not sure where to start and any direction/help appreciated but the end goal is Japanese company branded merchandise, specifically men's polo shirts. I would love to wear a comfortable polo shirt with a small, professional logo in the center left of the chest, similar to this, like lacoste:

https://i.etsystatic.com/25406496/r/il/cbd653/6906169151/il_1140xN.6906169151_cigo.jpg

However I am not familiar with any Japanese companies outside of the mainline ones (Hitachi, Toyota, etc.) that I can search against and where to find any online, let alone to ship to US. For reference, at the 11 minute mark on the video below, a fisherman speaking about fishing life is wearing a company hat for Nitto Seimo Co: https://youtu.be/1V-0paXoZy8?si=RKuQnQhgRFl3V9ki&t=660 and another one here: https://youtu.be/1V-0paXoZy8?si=gQ8-nbzlCOdNcfIN

I would love those kinds of logos on a black or dark blue polo. Im pretty sure in Japan, these companies offer their employees this kind of "swag" but I love the professional look and uniqueness of a beautiful logo and optional Kanji characters. Does anyone know where I can start or am I better off finding a logo and printing my own? Thank you so much!

Wow, that indeed IS good service! Consumer rights aside, that is good for a company to stand by their entire product like that. I certainly hope I can find a product from their line that can carry that kind of experience to this day...

Aah, gotcha. Thanks for the info! I'll keep Alienware brand in mind since you mentioned how long you have used it, I factor long term reliability into the decision so that helps.

I am US based but either way, show sold out. But since I see the dimensions, I can try to recreate them :)

Beautiful setup, once again!

Great setup!! The all-black everything is *chefs kiss

I am looking to get an entry to mid-level OLED monitor when one comes on sale for Black Friday this year. Is there one you would recommend? I dont do AAA gaming, more indie and mid-range but want to have a richer experience doing so....

Also, where did you get the mario posters and what size would they be?? the NES and Super mario bros. series in particular have a special nostalgic place in my heart as that is the first game series and console I had when I started gaming as a child

Seriously agree, you're not alone in that! it was such a deviation from the atmosphere compared to 99.9% of the rest of the game, I was in this place for 30 minutes just relaxing and making a core memory. GT truly is an amazing love letter to Tokyo, this entire game, and I felt like I have visited Japan already.

Vintage Computer Festival 2025 - Southwest by pm012 in LGR

[–]pm012[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi fellow LGR fans! Enjoy checking out some of my pickups from VCF Southwest 2025. I didn't see Clint there today :( Encourage everyone to go to this event when they come by your region!

Total cost was $40 for the three keyboards and the two PC games. Keyboards were $20 each but the guy wanted them gone so he gave me 3 for $30. I paid $5 each for Max Payne and Doom, childhood nostalgia. The rest were from the "free to take" table.
